A few very interesting runners - thoughts ....

R1: Not easy to separate Heart Peaks and Courageous, HP has a better draw this time, so might beat her rival today; Springer tries 1600, siblings have done better over 1400, but being by Vercingetorix, this trip could be what she is looking for - those 3 stand out

R2: Interesting clash; Swing Upon a Star imo the best horse in the race, but as is the case with Pure Predator (did Gavin have the choice between the 2 Wernar runners?) may prefer 1200; Ziyasha looks best suited to 1000, but imo lacks the class of the other three

R3: Another interesting clash; handicap where many may prefer 1200, so not easy; Chocolate Bomb probably has the best form, but probably better over 1200, Kinshin Sha has a wide draw, but with Beaded Gown do seem suited to the 1000; Cornwall changed stables but has shown some ability while both Law of Success and There She Goes look better over 1200

R4: Another tough race to call; Ampersand has won this track and trip, so deserving favorite imo; Silver Tudor also looks very capable and has pole position, while Cosmic Star has not run well around the turn, but might have had excuses in those runs and Gavin sticks with him

R5: Proper handicap where many have chances

R6: Again a proper handicap; I think Ballroom Bliss may be dropped out this time and has run her best races for the jock, so looks good value

R7: Good Queen Bess ran to higher behind Feather Boa and could be the right banker on the card; What a Honey (not sure what happened last time) to go close again

R8: Another tough race to call; Rose Tinted looks capable, while Three Strands has pole position and could prove a welcome winner for the Spies stable; best each-way imo Dancing Arabian, good draw, rating drop so definite chance

Enjoy B)

Sour grapes I know, but why would the de Kock stable put a jock on that has never ridden a horse (Good Queen Bess) after stable jock JP has run a close 2nd on her - never looked comfortable (and it might not have anything to do with the jock) :(
