Here there was a big ruckus yesterday between Fortune and Lerena and an enquiry has been opened... Will let the stipes do their job but not sounding very good for Fortune (if true)

The silence about the incident at Turfontein yesterday is deafening.

No idea what happened here.
But Fortune has been good to me as a rider.
I got him right at Clairwood one afternoon when he rode a four timer.
Then at Scottsville when winning with
Abbeys Lad which was the banker.
It's not easy to win Fifty Grand these days, so thanks to The Candyman.
He's good for the game IMHO.

Race 4 yesterday Nafoorah - Why was this horse not taken out the Gates and inspected by Vet or asked by Chief Stipe to have horse inspected? It’s a bit odd 9/20 Favourite and Punters at the arse end of the stick AGAIN.
Surely some one must be brought to task for not doing their JOB .Maybe 30k fine and they won't do it again!

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that it has opened an inquiry into an incident that occurred in the weighing room area at Turffontein Racecourse, after the running of Race 7 on Saturday, 24 October 2020.
After carefully considering the prima facie evidence, the provisions of Rule 91.2 have been enforced and an interim suspension has been imposed on Mr Andrew Fortune, a licenced Stable Employee and Colour Holder, from attending race meetings until such time as the outcome of the inquiry has been determined.

THE STARTER REPORTED:

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) NAFOORAH (C Murray) over raced in the early and middle stages.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) NAFOORAH not striding out left hind, cut into right hind.

So with a cut in the right hind and not striding out left hind it looks probable that one of it's injuries came from kicking the back gates.
As Mark Sham pointed out the vet should have examined the horse.
