Even when comparing times of equal distance races on diffrent days are almost impossible..as of the MANY varying factors from day to day racing. Not too mention the pace factor between 1400 and 1750 is miles apart.Surely there must be better ways to compare the 2.
So in addition , as mentioned before ---- the trainer would have looked at the same numbers and decided 1900 was too far, 1400 too short and chosen the median , 1600m........., also we are not looking at race times, we are benchmarking and it's probably a known fact that speed variation is relative to distance - regarding the pace aspect, it's been mentioned a thousand times that speed alone is no holy grail selection method.

7 years 8 months ago.....one has to be cognizant of DK stepping a 1st timer over ground at Scottsville.....this is how he has historically prepped some of his past champions.....this did not beat much today but let's see where it goes from here....MasterOfMyFate wrote:bayern wrote: Did Delpech say that Hashtagyolo injured herself coming out the gate?, because she looked good going to post

0-1200 m 1 L = 0.25s
1300-1400 m 1L = 0.33s
1500-1600 m 1L = 0.5s
1600+ 1L = 0.66s
I see you are putting it all together
you safe if you use 0,18 as an average

LOL --- add 5 Kg's to a horse running 1000m and 5Kg to a horse running 3000m , I think the horse will disagree about the use of an average

Pace was not on , favourite was clearly over-rated- Flying Silver was pulled out of the race , a fair result since under those conditions who could have found it -
