If you took an ante post bet then there is no refund on Elusive Silva likewise no deductions.

When Elusive Silva just got withdrawn Hollywood did have 15% deduction.

This would apply on a normal meeting. But here we get another horse entering the market, surely normal deductions should not apply.

15 ELUSIVE SILVA (0%) - Scratched

That's the thing when Elusive Silva got scratched they did have 15%. Now they have 0% . What they must be trying to convey is that if you wager a bet at this very point there will be no deduction. Just my feeling.

If there is no deduction then hats off to them because tomorrow if like for example Al Sahem gets withdrawn then what will they do as they would have set a precedent for applying no deduction when Elusive Silva got withdrawn.

Form vs bookies odds?

I am no frodo, shrek, pirates, Hawkins or Lips when it comes to form /merit ratings etc

However i always feel that horses chances are normally close to where the bookies price them up.

Bearing this is mind, i heard a couple of chirps between Garth and Paul after the gallops on the merits of certain horses getting into the race.

I feel there is less drama this year with the final field and it now appears cut and dry that the best runners are lining up.

So whats my point?

We have a horse eg black arthur (where purists may say should not run as its a "hype" horse, however the bookies make it as low as 7/1 in front of most of the field).

We now have another example where Horizon comes in at only 14/1 for a runner that was not good enough to make the final field??

Not sure if anyone wants to comment but i just feel a few anomalies have occurred where horses dont have the "form" but are short in the "betting"?

Oh shite. Was really chuffed with my 33/1 bet on Elusive Silva. What now? Nightingale? I had a tiny flutter on her last year on the ante posts, 100/1 I think it was before she was withdrawn.

you took the 33/1? I took 12/1 and i'm gutted. I thought he'd go very very close to pulling it off :(

Wouldn't put you off Nightingale. Strong filly who'll love that trip. I think she's got a fair chance. Really improved as of late.

@ MOMF. Yip. I made sure I backed him just after the prices came out and before he won the Sledgehammer. What you taking now?
