Both 3 yr old races look like crackers - let's hope they don't have to switch to Poly on the day  Heavenly Blue the notable absentee - so the July is doubtful ?

Maybe they trying to retain the same rating of 106 for Heavenly Blue. 2400m seemed too far and 1800m was right up its alley so maybe giving less weight to the other 3yos over 2200m is the plan.

I think as things stand with Marinaresco probably at 60 kgs (assuming Captain America does not run), Al Sahem and Heavenly Blue will both come in at 53.5 kgs - so not much to be gained - unless of course Al Sahem wins the DN in a canter and goes up 5 points - unlikely though imo

What I was trying to convey if Heavenly Blue won the race its merit rating surely will go up and taking the Classic win over 1800m, 2000m in the Daily News would have not been a problem. It will therefore have jeopardized its chances in the July if its a carry an extra kg and so on as it is not certain it will get a hard run 2200m.

^I have followed African Night Sky closely and backed him for the Winter Guineas so I am a fan however he's not anywhere near as good as Marinaresco was this time last year. Maybe next year.Rather let him win the 3rd leg.
