The Michael Azzie trained dual Grade 1 winner, Hat Puntano (ARG), should have been entered here would have been fair to punters.
I don't understand your statement... It should be about being fair to the horse!
Would have given the punters a chance to see Hat Puntano over 1900M at Greyville in a race that is a good pointer to the July.

Noted, but the trainer acts in the best interest of horse and owner first which I feel is correct, the punter takes no risk...

An owner buys the horse and pays for its well being. The trainer trains for the owner, not the punter...
Your choice where you put your "confetti" but do you honestly think a trainer should put a punter ahead of an owner or his horse?

who was the original owner of this horse? And what were his plans? Where did he get the money to buy this horse?

I think that's another topic all together Mr H.
My point is that the plan for a horse is determined by its owner and trainer. If I want my horse to win the July then we will prep it however we feel right and enter it in the races we feel adequate. I definitely won't run it in a race just because a punter wants to see how it fairs against certain opposition.
Surely an owner has that right

If not for punters(the few that remain) owners and trainers might well be racing for "confetti" - Arrogance amongst the inner circle helps to alienate punters further
