Tough card but I am going to row in with Qing in R5 as my punt for the day. Admittedly coming back is distance may not be ideal however two encouraging things for me are the run prior to winning the Maiden, she was a close up second over the 1400M and when winning her Maiden over 1600M, she raced relatively handy. Despite the latest penalty, I think from a decent draw Qing can pull off the 4 timer.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

A very challenging card. Some early thoughts:
Race 1: Four of the 10 runners met in the race won by Moonlight Runner, and there is precious little between them. Percival has been priced up favourite on the assumption that he has the most scope for improvement. Al Wahed has his problems, but if sound and fit, is a big runner on best form. PE visitor Oriental Tiger must be respected.
Race 2:be Fabulous does duty for us, and can be expected to run another honest race. She has to take on some classy, improving younger fillies, so I will be happy if she can place. The two to beat are Star Express and Morning Light, but an upset is quite possible.
Race 3: Sweet Child of Mine and Tumbles give Marcus a strong hand, and there is nothing between them. Dixie Express continues to improve and can't be discounted. Hoist the Mast made huge improvement to win last time, and could easily go in again. Hot Affair has not shown much since returning from injury, but on best form would win this. Anything could win this, and I will put at least 5 in the PA.

Race 4: We send out Final Judgement. She is a smart filly, but may be green, it would a pleasant surprise if she were to pop up here. Stable companion Shizam ran a fair race on debut although well beaten, but will improve on that. These two get weight from the more fancied horses, so could surprise.
Felicity Flyer gets 2.5kg from Var Ahead and Sergeant Hardy which brings her into the reckoning. Both colts won well on debut and look smart. Bishop's Bounty has a big reputation.
Race 5: Another tough handicap. We have Silvan Star who was an unlucky loser last time as she got baulked more than once. Unfortunately she draws in the bush which makes her job very hard. She needs plenty of luck in the running, but is good enough. Qing, Jets a blazing and School Run have good form and decent draws, so are the ones to beat.

Race6: Zubbadubbadoo and Sail for Gold look the two to beat in an open contest. Rodney is a smart horse and should be respected.
Race 7: Carry on Alice missed the break and was never in the race in the Sceptre. She can win this on her best form and she is my first choice. Trip Tease is very fast and will be right there if he behaves in the pens. Brutal Force is on the up, and I am surprised Marcus chose the ride on Guiness. Tevez and Fly by Night are not too consistent these days but either could win. Gulf Storm is honest and will not be far off. Daring Dave is erratic, but has ability.
Race 8: For once, all the fancied horses have good draws. Legal Eagle must be first choice on his scintillating QP run. Futura and Legislate are the main dangers. Smart Call and Captain America have the class to win. I can't see anything else except perhaps Paterfamilias that can run into the quartet.

Race 9: Pine Princess showed in the Oaks that staying is her game. She is well in at the weights and should win this. Coltrane is the main danger. Solid Speed, Hot Ticket and Kingston Mines are all classy stayers who can be in the shake up. Gallica Rose has a chance at the weights. Crown of Gold has done well in PE and could surprise.
Race 10. We have Deep Secret running here from a good draw, and she may be my best chance of a winner on the day. Nima is on the upgrade and may be the one to beat. There are quite a few improving 3yos who can win this open contest.
Race 11: Our Jet is a hard knocking sort and is first choice here. The improving younger horses - Vilakazi, Speed Limit, Mr Wise Guy, Mutzi, winter's Coming and Prince of Wales will pose a serious challenge.
Race 12: Baritone is much better than his rating and is slung in here. He is a confident selection. French Revolution is the main danger if he is allowed too big a lead.

Worthy double for Met day, PERCIVAL x LEGAL EAGLE, it appears the two Snaith big guns will have their work cut out, IMO I see CAPTAIN AMERICA and SMART CALL fighting out 2nd and 3rd and then PATERFAMILIAS and MASTER SABINA 4th. I would love to see Captain America win for BC but I think LE will be very difficult to oppose. All other Tarry runners have place chances.
