Argentina were brilliant and can hold their heads high. They should finish 3rd after they beat the Boks on Friday

And if they beat NZL by more than 2 points Scotland can claim to be the 2nd best side on the planet :)

Ps the Pumas could be an awesome side

I hope that you not referring to me as the expat

All of you complaining about ABs forward pass try, take a look at the Aussies last try. Now that was forward and Argentina should feel aggrieved that the ref and linesman missed it

I have waited for the stats to come out, as in most sports they dont lie, before making a comment.
Territory AB 67%
SA 33%
Possession AB 57%
SA 43%
Metres made AB 387
SA 149
Tackles made AB 83 missed 3
SA 131 missed 20
Turn-overs AB 9
SA 6
I felt we were never in the game, but the scoreboard was on our side for the whole game. Thanks to all those penalties and Pollard/Bambie
Defence is important but defence doesnt score tries.
We were terrible on attack and NEVER look like scoring a try. Game plan/ just not allowed to by the AB/ just not good enough.
We can look for excuses for the loss but for me the AB were far too good and the scoreboard flatters us no end.
There is a lot of young talent in this side for the future (core going forward) and a lot of old men leaving (thank f...). Unfortunately politics is going to play an even bigger role in the future selection of players, how competitive we will ever be in the future is debatable.
In the past, under Apartheid, we had people of coulour supporting the AB very strange to see white people supporting the AB and other sides because of the quota system. :(

The right final has arrived..the others just also rans..as for boks the score does not reflect the game they ware flattered by the score..they will probably beat Arg but going forward they have to now realize they need major changes..however all our sport has now become ANCs political games again and thats the last time you will see a SA rugby team at a world cup looking like that

SA vs NZ much closer than I expected but I think the weather helped us big time . We have no imagination and all to often just returned the ball using a kicking game which allowed the All Blacks to keep possession . The All Blacks tried various options but our defense held . It was a great effort by the bokke but they never looked like scoring . The better team won , there is no doubting that .
On Friday we will comfortably beat the pumas .
The fact of the matter is that we should have ensured that we were on the bottom half of the draw but poor results between world cups resulted in us meeting the All Blacks in the semi's.

I agree about the weather - gave us a chance.

Regarding the draw - should never have lost against Japan, then we would have had the option of losing against the Scots ensuring 2nd place in the group - still even if we then managed to beat the Aussies in the Q/F and Argentina in the semi's, would probably still have lost to the All Blacks in the final - and maybe by even a bigger margin should the weather turn out decent - so the draw not that big a factor imo

Fact is we are just not creative enough in attack, and given a dry pitch and depending on the will to win a 'dead' rubber, Argentina may still give us a fright come Friday evening.

SA -8.5 vs Argentina - surely SA have nothing to play for and Argentina will be more up for it
NZ - 6.5 vs Aussies - NZ are known to choke when it matters most and depending on a few key injury concerns for the Aussies, they could be holding the william webb ellis trophy aloft come Saturday

I would guess that the Bok game will be more entertaining and swashbuckling with a high score that could go either way so the points start to the Pumas would be my call.

The final should be very hard and tight with NZ running and trying to break down the best defence I have witnessed in the world cup but feel the form team and best team will lift the trophy, the All Black's for me.

P's has been a great tournament for me and certainly improved my understanding of the game and would have to say enjoy more than the soccer these days
