So, it seems that the general consensus is that:
Horseracing in RSA is run by people of integrity, who are well within their right to
withhold information (and deceive when necessary), as they bear the costs etc.
And further, to manipulate people and markets to execute their punting coups.
While the punter is expected to study form and watch the betting closely to spot any of this and possibly win.
Finally I get it....why is all this not advertised as part of the "its a rush campaign" then??
Shouldnt newcommers be at least made aware of how things actually work.
And to think I was dumb enough to have gotten upset by this. Thanks LG and others
your wisdom and experience has openened my eyes .

@ Rob F... bud I want to make it clear that imo the stable was really doing nothing wrong regarding Jet Belle. We should all know that stables use races as preps. And the implication was not that they were running with no intention of winning, just that they were looking at a bigger picture than that particular race. I have zero problem with that and indeed many of those who are good enough to give pre-race comments often advise that they do not expect their horse to win.
That though leads on to my issue with this, it is my honest and not for changing opinion, no matter what anyone else says (I am a stubborn sh1t sometimes) lol that all stables should relay such information, otherwise it is all guess work and the form book can be thrown out the window to an extent. That applies world-wide.
I honestly can't fathom how anyone interested in fairness and the continuation and increase in both the sport and the number of people punting can think any differently. It is extremely short-sighted and possibly selfish to think otherwise imho.
If anyone can justify why "connections" simply can't take the opening price and then relay relevant and important information to the public then please let us know. If anyone can justify why connections (trainers) should not tell the public when the market opens that a horse will need the run, has had an injury setback, is showing sudden huge improvement at home etc etc etc please let us know.

I would like to answer on behalf of our wise men......
Its because they spend a lot of money in the game and feel that its their right to do whatever
is necessary to not only recoup that investment but make a huge profit punting also.
And anyone who has a problem with this must simply f...off.......perhaps to the casino
@rob....pot/kettle....good one...lol

Englander, the reality is, our judgement of right or wrong is irrelevant(and just as well otherwise there would be many many versions of right or wrong)..............it breaches NHA rules rules!!!!
(and the simple answer to your second paragraph reflects the importance of rules to provide basic info IMO.......... if they don't have to,why should they?)
I would rather be dependant on rules than goodwill.
Personally, the only thing I have ever wanted to know is the soundness and fitness of a horse and that it will be allowed to run "on merit"
