An interesting observation I have made is that it had the most money bet on it on the Interbet win market, R29618, but still did not start as favourite. Oh well, maybe next time.

RISKY ROSCO is scratched Aaargh! R7922 already bet on Lily Gray and it is still not the favourite, that first timer must be quite something... Only R20 bet on Caprivi Strip so far...

Lily Gray is still second favorite with 17 mins to the off, it's currently the tote favourite however. I'm hoping for a betting coup on Interbet...

8 mins to go and it looks like my selection will be 2nd favourite again. Still the tote favourite though. No bet so far..

4 mins to go and my selection is no longer the tote favourite. I'm an interested spectator once again...

And they off! R96431 bet on it, but it was second favourite, so none of that was mine.

I love Saturdays! Thank you to the gods who created horse racing. My juices are pumping again as there is a chance of a bet, note I said a chance of a bet, not an actual bet. As my system with very strict criteria has teased me thus far but has not made me make an actual bet. Maybe today is the day! Carpe Diem!

I've entered the data into the computer for today's Turffies meeting, and this is what it likes....

Race 5 SHE'S A STUNNER and Race 6 SEMRA. Remember one of the criteria of my ultra strict boring system is that my selection must start as favourite on Interbet, should that be the case I will place a R20 win bet and a R40 place bet on my selection. After 20 bets I will then tally up my money won or lost and see if I like the system or not. It's an experiment to see if a casual horse player can beat the races.

I've just had a quick look at the daily ABC thread and I see two of my favourite forum members, Bayern and Englander also like She's a Stunner today. I must say Englander's avatar picture is far more stunning than Bayern's. It looks as if I won't be celebrating or cursing alone today. I also had a quick look at Interbet, R2121 bet on She's a Stunner so far, she is the favourite and the current price available is R3.50. SEMRA has had R425 bet on it so far, it is currently just the 2nd favourite with an available price of R2.60. I'll have to watch the market here very closely.... I can't wait for the racing to start!

MY FIRST BET HAS BEEN PLACED! My R20 is on at R3.00 on Interbet. I think the price will sharpen, and have decided to bet a bit early to try and get a bit of value. I'm just scanning the place bet markets to find the best value for my place bet now...

I've put my R40 place bet on the tote. Here's hoping I don't get a R1.00 return... I'm off to the telly to watch...
