I suspect we may have to re-learn the oldest rule in the racing book : Weight stops trains. And never more so than over 3000m where the WFA scale suggests that 1lb = 1 length or, put another way, 1kg = 2,2 lengths.
There are plenty runners in this race with some attractive contenders at massive prices.
Furthermore - even an arbitrary glance at the form would appear to suggest that Hot Ticket may be better over an anti-clockwise course with a longer run in.
Given just some of the above issues you are unlikely to get rich backing short priced favourites over long distances under 60kg.

definitely not the blind school - there look about 6 that can win - plus banker then you leave your tom in the pool for others if he looses - Garrick good point re anti- clockwise track and short run in a worry

Okay - sorry about that phrase PK - Maybe I should have said "he is running against a bunch of average handicappers"...Hot Ticket is Grade 1 material...don't worry about the weights, he is still very very well in on the conditions of the race. (

Hot Ticket Look good on the last run (prep) but i think magic smoke and storm warning will be a def factor very hard to banker
