Are we all sure there is not some hidden agenda here? Everyone had pointed out
that it makes no business sense, and that if Tellytrack is terminated in its current
format that horse racing is doomed.
So why are Phumelela so committed to this course of action? Clearly they have a
lot of soccer turnover to rely on, and enough reserves to ride out the storm. But
where does that leave Gold Circle? Do they have a big enough sport betting base
and financial reserves? Would a huge drop in turnover mean the demise of Gold
Circle, and does this then mean that Phumelela will be able to buy up Gold Circle
at a "fire sale" price?
Conspiracy theorists should be looking closely at who will be the biggest losers if
the TV signal goes blank in 6 days time.

Bookmakers are no fools and they have been around for centuries and they will find a way around any obstacle Phum puts before it. History has already shown that under the watchful eye of Phum and GC we have lost Newmarket, Bloem, Germiston, Clairwood, Arlington and Milnerton. Brilliant for Phum but no so brilliant for owners, punters and horses. I was NEVER a Bookie punter but ever since changing to Hollywood I have found no reason to use my Telebet account and if ever Hollywood no longer offers me an option to bet on races I will not have a Racing bet again because punting is meant to be fun and professional - Past experience with the tote (well documented here and in their Help line file if they keep one) has shown me that using their service is neither fun nor professional. So carry on your war with the Bookies Phum and lets see how many punters will still be around in a year or two

And with just 4 days to go to the scheduled demise of Tellytrack on DSTV,
there I still no news of any extension to channel 239 from Multichoice.
Surely SOMEBODY can enlighten us?

No change for home users, Tellytrack will remain on DSTV. That's what I've heard.

Everyone is gone quite with a few days to go and NO communication whatsoever from the authorities - superior service as usual
