Guys I think we have to be realistic

The company is making money hand over fist, records are being broken, hand shakes are the order of the day

Well done to them, we are basically just a wee pain in the arse

Things could change in a couple of years and the customer base could become important and new 3/5 year plans and focus may have to come into play?

So as the Beatles would say "Let it Be"

I have the same frustrations with Telkom, Munitoria etc

No competition ........ poor service .....,

i highly recommend someone post the latest phumelela results showing where the profit is coming from and where the decline in the business is coming from...also post riaan du plessis comments regarding tote turnover locally ...

That is exactly the point!!!! The apathy of many (including many posters) is, that as long the there is profit in the big picture ,all is fine.................NAIVE..........no corporate subsidises loss leaders forever, and when the assets have been stripped to the bone they will spit out the local product ,and any takeover by new operator/s will be hindered by that very depleted asset register, possibly making the local industry already terminal!
I am amazed at how little concern seems to have arisen from the one very significant thing that came out of the competition enquiry........................the seemingly misleading issue of WCapes Racing's assets being ringfenced !

Hope u follow the context of my post as it was written from a Phumelela perspective and they feel they are now bigger than their customer base and this will have a negative backlash in the not so distance future

Yes Dave...........the "let them eat cake" attitude should lead to the same ultimate reaction as it did all those years ago ,but general apathy may sadly be their saviour!

I use to be like 'the tote is god ect' but that was coz i played at the tote daily....but than...i opened an account....what bullshit lol!Problems on a regular basis!can i swear here?? Hahaha

I don't think I've put 1 rand into my tote account in the last 5 years. In fact I've forgotten the pin#
HOw much have hollywood & the like taken from me in this time ? Plus I am a horse owner who is Intersted in STAKE INCREASE'S - whose renenue comes from the tote coffers !
Thanks to hollywood for that 15 % BONUS added to my account ( when i made a deposit ) the day before the met. Now that's looking after dustomers.

I would have had my account for 27 years this April but for the past 3 years have not used it - My pin was burned into my memory but I'm not sure if I still remember it - Now HW and Betex get my money
