MISTER A
Firstly, you are using this thread, again, as an advertising tool for your site. How about paying for it?
Secondly, the following refers as reply to your posts -
1) why should RA advertise on your site? Dont they have the right to choose their own direction, strategy or methods of advertising? Thats THEIR decision to make.
2) ABC stands for African BETTING Clan, so I cannot understand why you deny that fact.
3) Irrespective, though, of what ABC stands for or whether you choose to ignore the betting aspect in favour of your preferred "blog" terminology, the fact remains that any group can and may be evaluated in terms of its impact on turnover.......and yes, the Vee Moodleys of this World do look at things like that, which is why he is so good at what he does.
3) whether Owners, Trainers, Punters, Jocks, Breeders, Agents or Grooms frequent your site, it doesnt matter. Charge for it and dont let anyone stand in your way!
4) surely your persistent criticism of racing bodies and people isnt winning you too many friends...... or advertisers....?
5) I find it a joke, really, when now I have to read and be expected to believe that ABC has now suddenly become the big "mediator" for Racing, whereby so many problems are solved....
6) I dont write for anyone or on instruction from anyone. I have NEVER done that. So, just for the record, I am not one of these people to whom you refer. I have always undertaken to go and find out the facts and then post these on ABC. However, should sufficient numbers of posters really believe that I am a mouthpiece for the various powers that be, they simply have to post that and I will not post anymore.
ROB
You have NEVER been to an Industry Liaison Committe meeting. I have attended many. So, you will have to take my word on this - they will get DRILLED on this issue and Larry will DEMAND answers, as he does on many issues. He is extremely hard headed when Phumelela drop the baton and I know of NOBODY who pushes harder for Punters rights, treatment and issues. Larry is one of the most seasoned and dedicated horseracing punters that I have ever met. And I have been in Racing a year or two. Again, you make a statement without a clue of what Larry/RA actually do !
PIRATES
my personal health, that of my family and my business interests have absolutely nothing to do with you and this forum. I own shares in 17 horses, have to pay my way and cannot maintain my lifestyle off Training fees. Other than that, I have nothing to say except that where, when and how I choose to train my horses in conjunction with my business and personal life is not your or this sites business. And that is my last reply or post on that matter.

Louis ,you are absolutely right ............I have been an industry client / customer ,colourholder for many years and I don't know what role the RA plays in the big picture..................as a potential member, who should be telling me?
Insofar as your industry liason committee: what inroads have you made to what the industry regards as it's biggest drawback....the open bet.........sorry but as you report nothing I will have to guess based on what I see ............absolutely nothing!!!!!!
In fact last year it got worse when at least 2 very large tote agencies converted to the open bet.
So give yourselves 100% for effort and FA for skill..

Since the operators have taken control of racing, they have been the only ones to have benefited, while all other stake holders have suffered. They have built up their bottom line on the back of local racing. Punters and owners are always weighing in while they only take out Their will always be an undercurrent of discontent and suspicion around them. If they are so sensitive to some very valid criticism, tough.

lousig this is a horseracing chat site all about people posting and replying to one another, so cant understand how if im chatting on a subject you see it as im advertising Formgrids,, are you when you chat advertising your name as a trainer, do you think ABC dont want us to exchange chats,
i dont need the RA to advertise with us, just pointing out the fact that I find it strange that RA choose not to advertise with us considering we have their target market using our site daily, ive got a very good very busy growing website without them, GC have long ago done a deal with us, what i say about the men running the racing bodies is the way i see things, i dont want to win friends that need to be sucked up to, betterment of racing is my priority, and why on earth would i not want you to post,, discussion is healthy if we all wanna see racing thrive, or do i need someones permission to love and contribute to the game

does it look like i need the RA, or that i need to sneak some advertising on ABC,, now louisg if i charge or it makes no difference, rather question WHY the RA who are are supposed to have SA racing interests as part of their mission statement have avoided advertising on Formgrids,, by doing so they have missed out on getting email adresses and contact details of thousands of potential overseas people who may have become owners in SA, leave Vee and Phumelela out of it , im talking just RA, and i NEVER refered to you as talking on behalf of others,

when the racing bodies appeal to punters to play the tote and avoid the open bet would it be nice if we replied: Dont we have the right to choose our own direction, strategy or methods of punting? Thats OUR decision to make.,,,, no we dont, some of us try support the tote as i have done putting TABGOLD on each Racecard page,,,
