.....in other words these passports are still very crude and cannot be guarenteed as an identity document.....it is like the vaccination card you have for annual dog jabs....... just that there is a basic diagram showing a horse and where to find the distinguishable markings.....:S

The trainer according to the interview he gave Michael Clower received the horses with stickers and names attached from the farm....it is the farm then that mixed up the horses in question.....still to be revealled is how these horses were not scanned when going for starting stall certifcates....because this is where they are supposed to scan the horse to make sure that it is the correct horse receiving a certificate as passing the ablity to go into the starting stalls.....again here is another challenge and reminds one of a time when certain horses were suspended for bleeding.....but not scoped to confirm bleeding because they did not have a scope.....maybe no scanner at starting stall trials and again this identity check was only done with a passport.....:
....all will be revealled if a proper enquiry is conducted.....:S

Excuse my stupidity , how did they actually find out it was the wrong horse ? Did they scan it after the race ?

Yes...the horse was scanned because they took samples for dope testing....which they do with every winner and any other horse they choose for testing.

true Mr H also share the same sentiments that you should know who your star player is she looked abit dazed when she started but came back nicely to finish off......maybe they would have had a punt if they knew which horse was running too many angles to look at all making my head pain i guess we will never know for sure what the trainer is thinking

Would be funny if he two have complete different pedigrees speed wise. He would have been puzzled wondering where the speed came from on what looked to be a staying pedigree. I supp supose those questions could have now been answered
