Do you guys think the nags that run day in, day out up at the vaal are any better... my god, I would take pe racing any day compared to the shit we dished up at the vaal...(
) ... Gauteng stakes may be higher (as a punter i couldn't care a shit, sorry to all owners) but the quality of racing has been dropping for the last 10 years up here imo.... :

Ditto, too many horses of equal calbire. Its the prices on the favourites which are wrong, those prices should be far longer...

Justin has it mostly right. Most stables are racing "leftovers" with either not much ability, mental or soundness problems.
Snr Doba shouldn't have been 50/1 on his form behind Hidden Reserve and The Berryman.
Alif has best form over 1800m. His last run over 1800m he ran a close 2nd. 1600m too short but he needed the runs. Englanders has this right too.
Stunning Girl has been disappointing as we said but did show some of her earlier form yesterday.

Flash, i just can't get excited about watching 25 races a month down a boring straight course or sand racing where the conditions of the track change so drastically from week to week... To me its not all about betting but the spectacle of the race which no doubt is better in PE imo.
But that's just me, others thoroughly enjoy it....

how is that Sand track? One week you have Zero chance from off the pace the next you can only win from off them!

Englander often around this time of the year we have a lot of rain( seriously!
) and the work done with the horses becomes incosistant. We also find certain trainers will keep working the horses hard even if the tracks are not the best. These horses will be fitter but some will not be as sound. I would rather take them easy and therefore unless my horses had run pretty recently most just need that run. Punters must keep an eye on the different results with different trainers and keep that in mind when we get long rainy spells again. As some have said the worse the class of horse is the more inconsistant they are likely to be.

spot on but yet again punters have no idea what goes on at the training centres and until this type of information along with everything else that is witheld for whatever reason the industry will lose customers...

Thanks to the Shams and Craig for their, as always, useful comments. Although we have a wee disagreement on some cricketing aspects
I entirely agree with Pirates which is why I made reference to the big distinction between those that come on here and those that don't. If you try to help you earn respect, if you don't and we can't fathom a result or the form of a horse/stable etc then it is quite likely we won't be happy. Surely that is just normal human nature? It is all about just supplying a little simple information to keep the majority rather than the minority informed.

Ziets is probably right in some ways. There is no longer top consistent horses coming out of P.E. They now seem to be rare unlike the days of Stanley Greef and Andy Smith.etc.
Hear the Drums the last top horse to hail from P.E, not wanting to include Bold Silvano and Lizards Island as they did not achieve claim to fame in the windy city.
La Fabulous was a Greef horse that was unbeaten in P.E. and did win the J&B Met.Captive Prince ran 3rd in the Met. Stateway won the Gold Cup as did Cereus in Durban.
Wonder if any P.E. horses to line up in the Guineas or Met?
