PE Racing-What is really going on there?
12 years 6 months ago
Today it was proved again that everything is not in order in PE....
Most trainers (excluding the SHAMS , TARA LAING , WIESE) and almost all PE jockeys are either useless or very dodgy or just too inconsistent or just have no clue what is going on with their stable.....I personally think that if you want to "rig" a race it will be very easy without getting the stipes on your back(already wonder how many times it already happened)....I dont have to remind anyone of all the "upsets" happening way tooooo much , or the jockeys not riding to instructions or favorites finishing way out of the places or just total chaos in some races etc etc and all the big payouts soooo seldom......
How many trainers really know what is happening at their stables and what is happening behind their backs at the stables and stable jockeys that cant retain their good rides?.......and how do stables with stable jockeys (most stables use the same jockeys) have no clue who the better horse is in the race of the stablemates...go check how many jockeys doesn't retain the ride after running in the places or even win with the horse .......why?????????
That place confuse me ......tried to check again how was some results possible today and i still cant think its possible without conspiracy ....
just my view, how do you other clanners see it ?

The way to ensure that horses are presented to run as fit and as sound as possible is to regulate the consistency rule........the problem if you don't is that the inevitable uncertaintees of racing (which racing needs BTW) is creating easy opportunities for "manipulated" reversals.
They get lost in amongst the norm.
Racing will never be predictable due to the nature of the beast...............I just object if nothing is being done to try to prevent the humanly manipulated results!

Ziets, I think you have to be very careful talking about conspiracy and the like. There seems little doubt that not everyone is 100% on the level but I don't think you can single out PE. Lets be honest, I think we all have complete respect for the Shams but they had a 50/1 winner last week, a 201 winner and a 40/1 second by a short head today. Alif is an incredibly difficult horse to predict and at the moment you either keep backing him and hoping or you steer clear, if you steer clear then you would not be happy today but the horse does have form. Tara Laing is another you mention, she has a 20/1 winner today while her 9/2 shot which was supported lags behind. Greef was totally out of form but now seems bang in form but many of his horses have such recent poor form that you are inclined to pass them by. There are seemingly, to me anyway, a lot more horses raiding or coming over from other centres and I always find that harder to compare. The weather has been abysmal over the last few months and greatly affected the going, the track conditions in general have become worse and working the horses much affected. It has also been the time for injections etc. I just think it is bad time to be punting anywhere. Everything needs to settle down again and once there is a little more consistency then things will hopefully make a little more sense again... at least I blardy well hope so!
It would be good to read any thoughts Craig or the Shams (or any clanners of course!!) have about this time of year etc and possible problems trainers have and why there is seemingly so much inconsistency and many a race seemingly not run to form... though I think that is often the case anyway.
I have also read recently Craig, Chippy and Louis all stating (if I remember rightly) that a lot of those in the game don't want to come on here because they feel they just open themselves up to abuse. I look at it differently and I am just being honest... if the Shams did not come on here then I would be questioning some of their results over the last couple of weeks. It is because they come on here and try to be transparent that I accept it so easily. I have never asked them to give us winners, just those little one-liners are excellent and a confident noise here or there. It is because others don't do that they are not trusted and thus sometimes come in for abuse here. I am not saying there would never be 'abuse", of course there would but a trainer or jockey explaining a run helps a million times more than no comment at all.

Punters are suckers for self inflicted punishment.Sometimes you have good days and most of the time you have bad days but we still soldier on in the hope of that elusive big payday. In order to get that BIG payout the longshots need to arrive and we need to have selected them and in most cases the unfashionable stables will produce these longshots.
In most cases our attitude to the game changes as our fortunes change and hence one day we will sing the praises of a particular stable/jockey and the next day we will criticise that same stable/jockey.

Ziets - nothing wrong with nice big payouts, i for one, would of loved to have catched my PA for 10% - still would of made over 10x my original input (based on payout - obviously it wouldd have been lesser should the 7th race featured a fancied runner)
having said that i can relate o your post however, with regards to the conistancies - most of my winnings (based on the form i follow) most of my winnings come from Turf and Clairwood, as I feel they are the truer courses

The more that consistent sensible regulation is applied across the country, the more the centres will level out and equate
I agree with Justin V point but I know that in many instances more care could be applied to fitness and soundness...............and nobody said it was easy...........but many jobs aren't!

100% - I don't have any stats but I think far less horses are scratched there too (besides those for being intractable) as opposed to other centers

In the pre-TV days....listening to the commentaries on radio...I thought PE racing consisted of Aunt Mildred's prize jumper...a few cart donkey's...the stable Great Dane and anything the local SPCA could serve up for the day....
Listening to the comments made by Gavinv and others on TT....it sounds as if the racecard should actually contain their list of ailments and not their recent form....
