I still think the side will benefit with Hougaardt not at scrumhalf - not sure when Goosen is back, but in the longer term I would like to see Goosen at flyhalf and Sarel Pretorius at scrumhalf.
For now, I would still have picked Pretorius at scrumhalf and Lamby at flyhalf with Frans Kruger at fullback, JJ Engelbrecht to join the captain at centre - with Habana on crutches and JJ Peterson out, it would have been the perfect opportunity to start Hougaardt on the wing.
I agree that Daniels is not the answer and a fit Brusseau should be first choice at flank imo.
A bonus point would have been nice, but in the end it will come down to whether we can beat the All Blacks (and the Aussies in Aus) or not.
I think we will struggle this week in Argentina, but hopefully still scrape a win.

I also rate Goosen, the lad has a huge boot and good vision. I recon he needs another season of Super Rugby to build his confidence before selecting him to play for the Boks.
The position for the future I am most excited about is outside center with the likes of Serfontein and Jordaan looking like terrific prospects.

I like Jordaan. He seems very strong and is very quick off the mark (tu)
SA rugby really does have a bright future hey..........the red-head prop from WP, Etsebeth, Kolisi, Goosen, Jordaan, Sefontein etc. there are more from other provinces as well, but the point is to mention the up and coming youngsters......not to say that some of the current stars in SA rugby are going anywere over the next 3 or 4 years.
I just really hope they nurture these guys into the setup the right way and not mess up their careers (which i ave seen a few times already).

Daniels had to be on the bench- invisible last weekend. Would have been quite wary of backing SA on the handicap if he were still starting

Watched Boots & all last night. 1993 Bokke vs Tucuman in Argentinia......The Battle of Tucuman. The like's of Hannes Strydom, Wahl Bartmann, Tiaan Strauss, young Ollie le Roux named Obelix after the game, Keith Andrews, etc. The dirtiest rugby game I ever watched.
The captain of Tucuman said afterwards that they have never been buggered up like this by any touring team before.

This must go down as the weakest Bok side for a decade. After 17 minutes SA look poor and weak. On the evidence of last week and up to now in this match they should just award the next 2 away games to NZ and Australia because they are going to get smashed.

There are no suitable words to describe this pathetic lot. They don't deserve to play in Bok jerseys.

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer says that his team let South Africa and themsleves down after they drew with Rugby Championship newcomers Argentina 16-all.
The draw is Meyer's second draw in five matches after the Springboks also drew with England in June.
Meyer's Springboks were trailing 13-3 and let Argentina go out to 16-6 before they staged a comeback with a fortunate charge down try by Frans Steyn.
Fly half Morne Steyn who enjoyed great form last weekend did not enjoy the same form this weekend and missed the opportunity win the match with a penalty 6 minutes from full time.
Meyer said that they will have some tough decisions to make before their next match which is against Australia in Perth on September the 8th.
"We have let our country and ourselves down. Unacceptable." said Meyer.
"Very disappointed, we were not good enough.
Meyer added that the, "Youngsters need to step-up" and that, "We need to adapt", after the Springboks appeared to have no Plan B.
"We will have to make hard decisions before we play Australia away from home."
South Africa skipper Jean de Villiers said: "We have only ourselves to blame as there were scoring opportunities wasted."
"Once again I have to admit that we must take a long, hard look at our individual displays.
"Australia away is going to be a different story and we must cut out the niggly stuff that marred our performance," added De Villiers.
"We got too involved with the niggly stuff, some hard work lies ahead for us,"
"We can only blame ourselves, as we did not use our opportunities."
Argentina captain Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe said that he was disappointed at the way they let the match slip through their hands.
"There was a massive improvement from Cape Town so I am disappointed that we did not win and this match demonstrated how fine a line there is between winning and drawing," said Fernandez Lobbe.
"We wanted so badly to win before our supporters and it was an awesome occasion - being the first Pumas team to play at home in this Championship is something we will remember with pride for the rest of our lives."
