Football betting

I don't punt on soccer other than the odd soccer 6,but I have one TV that is always on some sport channel other than Tellytrack and I have ended up watching quite a lot of soccer this week, and I have a question for the keen soccer punters.
In some of the lesser games where league positions appear to no longer be a priority, some of the play seems to be strange to say the least.....not just results but some of the play.......sort of going through the motions.
Do punters find punting at this time of the season unreliable.....just wondering!

Some games are dead rubber at this time of the Season for both Teams so you dont know what to expect. I will only place a bet if a Team can win the League, qualify for the Champions League, Europa League, get Promoted or they fighting Relegation. That said Everton pulled off a surprise draw even though they had nothing to play for but on the other hand every Team wants to beat Man United. Plenty other leagues offer value now cos it just started off like Finland, Sweden, Norway and Ireland. The South American Leagues, North America (USA. Mexico, Honduras, Guatamala, etc), Korea, China and Japan are all under way or midway so there is plenty of options available to have a wager.

I understand that the real "big bets" are placed on mickey mouse games.

Rob you will find there are a lot off dead games at this time of year, and also some great betting opportunities..
RE: teams that need to earn points to survive etc playing teams that are secure.
With a couple of games to go i usually go big on the home teams as the sides like to go all out for the final home game of the season(lap of honour for the fans)

There is some betting opportunities but the prices are usually shortened accordingly

There are usually bent games this time of year in the minor divisions, but the bookies soon find out and act..

Rob, at this stage of the Season I like to look at who teams like QPR, Wigan, Blackburn and Bolton are playing. They are desperate for points to stay up and if they play a mid table side who are safe and have no chance of getting into Europe I generally look at backing them as they have more to play for.

I have taken a decent bet on Bolton and Draw against Villa tonight and also at 3/1 backed Bolton to win. (tu)

I leave games where 2 mid table sides play at this time of the year.

Shrek,

YOU heathen, you have acted as a bookmaker by laying VILLA. How dare you create a betting exchange in your own living room. How can you act so smart by backing 2 of the 3 results and using that technicality to deflect your obvious intentions of laying?

I was amazed ........both were playing sides that will almost certainly be relegated.
It was the error rate that was so high...........both sides won 1-0 but could/should have got at least 3.
That league used to be really strong, but as you say, gone backwards.

aren't one of your experts on soccer willing to start a thread where you can guide us guys, who don't know anything about soccer, but want to have a punt what to punt? I had a look on The show tellytrack puts up but it is only confusing as i land up not knowing where to go, would prefer one or two maybe 3 good bets and go for those.

How do the others members feel?
