No question!
I don't know if he could have won but we will never know because based on his first run ,he was given no chance today........he wanted to stride as he did first time but was held up and ended up in a fight with experienced horses.
Very puzzling!

everything you guys said might be true, but just remember he beat the blind school last time out so he could very well be just an avg horse who was hyped up because he won by many lengths.i guess only time will tell if this was indeed a bad ride or if this is just an avg horse.

However he turns out will not alter the fact that he fought for his head and was not allowed to run in the same style as previously!
I qualified my comment for the reason you remind us of,but I still find it strange to make the change after only one run!
He also ran to at least a 90 (official 92) in his first run (measured against the blind school) and due to capping, was theoretically well handicapped today.

Both this horse and Heavy Metal had technical advantages yesterday, both came to 0.

I also got Skitt about 90 so I thought he was carrying about 3kg less than he would have otherwise. (sporting post had him 85 on debut, they have the high ground now).

HM ran off his pre guineas rating of 89 instead of the 100 he got for running next to Slumdogmillionaire, again on a hopping rule. So he carried 5.5kgs less than he would have if nominations had been a day or two later. I couldnt find a 100 for HM but he still looked to be better than 89.

I wonder if these techinical adjustments have a knock on in the ratings for these races too. Does the handicapper look at these runs of these horses lower capped ratings, or off the rating the handicapper actually has for the horse? So did Royal Ridge yesterday receive 1 kg from Heavy Metal the 89 horse, or Heavy Metal the 100 horse? And what do we do if Royal Ridge runs against Slumdog next?

Soon I will be begging for more weird rules.

Why use merit rating, just go on form or ability of the horse... guessing game me think...

thought he never moved well down to the post yesterday as compared to his first run but he also lacks racing experience as he didnt know he was in a race first time,,,also the handicaper needs more than one run to give an official ratng i thnk its 3 so its a bit much to have a go at him...
