Well this is where an inquiry should be opened - but as per usual I won't hold my breath.
Can still somewhat explain the 'poor' run by Blue Concorde after The Mousketeer's run, but COSTSAVER - give me a break :X

I asked Candice, Kom's assistant, if she had any explanation regarding the major improvement. She said that they decided to remove the tongue tie after he never jumped in the 2 starts that he wore it, plus added that his sand debut was a decent effort considering he needed it and raced wide too. Don't shoot the messenger

That explanation from the stable is all OK until we hear the old standard He "needed the run" .This is the issue that needs an agreement between trainers and the NHA as the situation should be that a horse is not raced until the horse is as fit as home conditioning can get it;
Rule62.1:Every HORSE shall be run and shall be allowed to run to the best of its ability and on its merits.
I would have to assume that running a horse unfit and not in a condition to run close to its rating(merit) is in breach?
We heard an explanation last week about a horse that was only 80% fit.On a horse with a MR of 100,that means the horse is expected to be 10 lgths below its best.......if a jockey gave a horse an "easy" by 10 lengths he would be warned off for life...............whats the difference?
This is the most concerning aspect of the handicap system.........whats the point if running on merit is not monitored and regulated.

Greg,horses will always have off days and form will never be perfect,thank goodness! Racing would be pointless and boring,but there is a big difference between a horse having a off day and sending out a horse that can't possibly even have an ordinary day...................horses will be inconsistent enough without any help from humans.
That is surely a reasonable expectation.

Where does one see in the formlines that a horse was running with a tongue-tie?

Unfortunately Blue Concorde pulled up very sore. It's not a tendon but may be a chip. The vet is comming to see him tomorrow morning and I will update ABC.
