Hughes has had his appeal upheld and will be now suspended for 6 days. At the moment Hanagan has had 169 winners and Hughes is on 158. They might as well hand over the trophy to Hanagan right now and whilst they are doing that they should also hand over the Premiership to Chelsea.

Bit of a sad end to the year for Richard..............
Hughes responds to appeal blow with double
RICHARD HUGHES made clear his intention to keep fighting for the jockeys' title when riding a double on the day his championship dream seemed to have been put out of reach.
Hughes's prospects suffered a major blow on Thursday morning when he failed to overturn his six-day careless riding ban, but hevowed to fight on and demonstrated that with victory on Vanguard Dream at Newbury and then Azlaa on Wolverhampton's evening card.
Hughes, who now trails Paul Hanagan by nine winners in the jockeys’ title race, was said to be "extremely disappointed" after his bid to reduce the severity of the ban he received at Wolverhampton on October 2 cut no ice with the BHA disciplinary panel.
Hughes, who picked up a further one-day ban for using his whip with excessive frequency on the same evening, will be out of action from Saturday, October 16 to Friday, October 22 inclusive, a spell that includes Champions Day at Newmarket.
The ban, together with a one-day careless riding suspension he received at Newbury on September 28 that puts him out of action on October 12, leaves Hughes facing an uphill battle in his bid for a first jockeys’ title, decided at Doncaster on November 6.
Earlier in the day, William Hill reacted to the news by cutting Hanagan into 1-8 (from 1-5) and easing Hughes to 9-2 (from 10-3).
