The OFFICIAL RACECARD should show the breeder. The official card should show everything thats relevant to the game... it's a source document.

A punting guide and the race card are not necessarily the same thing, with the same goals and objectives.

Jack they were discussing info for punters and how to prioritise info to limit costs.

Whats the point of ditching the official racecard and then replacing it with all the identical info....fail to see the point!

And you dont think Bruss's comments were self serving?

the breeder is reflected in the results page and in sales cat - showing who bred a horse (The breeding of the horse is obviously vital info) is free advertising for the breeder and means nothing to a punter. Ask any tote punter who bred Pocket Power, Wolf Power Mythical Flight etc and you'll get a stare of ignorance that is justified in my opinion.

....he does not want to hurt any one that has access to the show....it's those dimes from the poor punting mug they want....the change left over from buying a 10 buck form book...yes they have rolled all the weeks racing into one book...so they can further entice that poor mug that did not know of sand pit racing on a monday and Durbanville Tuesday to start parting with his the left overs from his weekly pay packet or the cash from his weekend gardening job to start a whole day earlier...life is so easy from one's ivory tower...the solution is the problem...

The four in one concept makes good business sense though - and at the very least will educate punters more and will perhaps have a negative effect on foreign racing as the punter now has four days with a fair form guide to study up on. He might just leave the tote with ten rand in his pocket to back the next local meeting(if he sees something he likes running the next day) rather than blow it on the UK last. The more educated he beomes the less likey he will be to throw his money after a blind bet I hope.

...not knocking the concept it's gr8....the presentation was BAD!!!!!...you don't have to justify to the limited viewers that can actually afford DSTV that you are targeting the muggs....it is f@cking condesending and smacks of arrogance

Having a little publication knowledge I think extra pages, if needed, should be paid for through revenue gleand from paid adverts from breeders etc or has this basic publishing rule been thrown into the dustbin?
