T all the Clan members....

1 What we wrote this am is exactly how the horses ran. Outof this world was scalped behind and Francie thinks she should stay over 1000m for a while and the 2nd filly was right there. Race 3 & 4 fillies ran as said. Race 5 Classic Lecture green and hanging but was a head past DJ when interference happened. race 6 Sudden Time ran a big race with the weight. Race 8 Bermuda Prince scratched no jockey.

2 A few weeks ago on 22 Jan when DJ caused Lector to hang in onto Dancing Kiwi we didnt make a hoo haa about it. We get on withit as thats racing.

3. We have 24 horses in training in PE, mostly owned 100% by Dorrie and myself. Classic Lecture is our "star" and cost R160k. Do you really think that Francie or ourselves would try to take out someone elses horse on purpose and put him or any horse at risk!! We met Rad on course and wished each other well, but these comments from some Clan members hurt when you are asked for transparency.

4. From the jockeys side, Francie was trying to keep Classic Lecture off the rail by neck reining himfor a long while. He stands to only lose if the horses dont earn. Guys must remember that horses are only animals and cant always be perfect. We also backed our horse so not only you guys lost money. How many lenghths do you think our horse lost in the incident?

Look obviously its shit when all this happens but lets remember the winner had a 4kg pull over DJ for just over a length beating when they met at Arlington. Obviously DJ never ran his race but I'm sure he will be back.

Dancing Kiwi couldn't be pulled up after the false start and must have run close to the full race distance so his scratching was obvious. DJ had only run about a couple of hundred metres after the false start so his running was never in question.

Maybe they should do away with all the starting stalls here and line them up National Hunt style! Our starting teams just don't seem to competent enough to get the job done...

Thanks for the news Newturf. I'm sure you guys do whatever you can to get to the race course and run as honestly as you can.......

My comments were most certainly not directed at you, but rather at a combination of greeness and the jock.

I wish you guys nothing but the very best with your horses in future and thank you again for your openness!

Hi guys i spoke to Rad (He's pissed off)...He asked me to post on his behalf his laptop is not with him & he will continue this discussion when he gets back on Monday:

Quote: "The race was rigged/staged including the false start.Big inquiry coming up. Gavin has lodged a high profile investigation. Big sh*t coming 4 Mr Herholdt. Mr Herholdt went to Gavin after the race to apologize and Gavin told him he doesn't want to hear anything & he must please leave."

There's lots more but Rad will fill everyone in on Monday...
All i can say is that it's really disgusting & sad...

Rigging a false start seems ridiculous to me. How on earth can you know that it won't screw the horse that's "supposed" to win? It adds a wholly unnecessary element of risk to the "fix", if there even was one to start with. No disrespect but connections of D J are not going to be entirely subjective about the whole thing, are they? Basic human nature to blame the world when things go awry. I've been as guilty of it as the next guy!

This is going to be our last post as we cant believe that a man can even think that a start has been rigged and therefore the race! This brings the whole NHRA into disrepute. Francie has been the only gentleman here by trying to apologise for what can only be described as a "normal " occurance in racing, particularly with young, inexpirienced horses. Is this the first and only time that a horse has suffered interferance in a race? To go back to 22 Jan when his horse caused the intimidation, why didnt he apologise to us then!

For goodness sake, this is a very minor race in PE, not the Dubai World Cup. To reiterate, horses are animals with good and bad days and jockeys are also just humans that can make mistakes. Please guys relax and look for the next "good thing" instead of blowing this way out of proportion. Do you think that the last race was also rigged as Finance Minister jumped out early and do you think that we liked to scratch our well prepared horse, Bermuda Prince, as there was no jockey available, or was that part of the race rigging conspiracy.

Dave, we do enjoy this site but now it seems that things are getting out of hand with some who cant lose.Any one that does want our thoughts on our own horses from the STEENKAMP yard can email us with pleasure before 10 30am on race day. Our email is newturfcarriers@hotmail.com
