JACK MILNER - THE combination of trainer Herman Brown and jockey Raymond Danielson has been proving most successful of late and they can score again in Race 4 at Scottsville on Wednesday when they team up with Mahubo.

While he still has a long way to go to match the exploits of his half-brother Imbongi, he has hardly put a foot wrong in his six starts to date. He certainly met some good runners early in his career and in his debut was put to the sword against Villandry in the Grade 3 Godolphin Barb Stakes over 1000m at Clairwood. He did well to finish third but took three more runs to shed his maiden tag.

His two post maiden runs were outstanding, as he finished a three-length second to King Fernando and then a four-length fourth to Pierre Jourdan in the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup over 1400m at Turffontein.

Those runs are good enough for Mahubo to be a worthwhile bet in this Graduation Plate over 1400m but he will have to overcome a No 12 draw and a 67-day rest. He also has yet to race at Scottsville but is at least 4kg better off with any other runner on handicap.

Looking past him, anything can win. Although he has a Herculean task at the weights, Val Quem Quer could be the main threat. He should be receiving 7kg from Mahubo but has to give him 1kg and that will not be easy.

Ard Ri has just won a Maiden Plate at the second attempt and could be a lot better than his 78 rating suggests.

Tomorrow I like

Furious Dancer (Race 2)
Emerald Wells (Race 5)
Crystal Bay (Race 9)

I'm not sure about Mahubo. Even though I'm a huge Pierre Jourdan fan (Who will be running on Saturday btw.), I'm just not sure how the form of that race is holding up.

Having said that I'm not sure who would beat him......Savannah Park maybe?

Happy punting

I don't know about Pmb, but weather in Durban is grey and gloomy. However, at the moment it doesn't look like anything worse than a very thin drizzle at most, so hopefully it won't deteriorate.

Furious Dancer will take a ton of beating in the 2yo race after running a cracker in what was surely KZN's best juvenile race of the season to date, by far. Carlas Wisdom looks cherry ripe to win with a 4 kgs claimer up and if Groovy Day can't beat that woeful bunch in the eighth she will never win a race.
