Turffontein beach training track

This was taken out of action months ago to be redone. For many weeks now it has stood without any progress so unless you want to train your horses on a stone chip track there is no beach. Don't think this would be allowed to happen at Randjiesfontein.

Phumelela should be ashamed of themselves.

I see that Racingweb is carrying a story on this subject today. Can anybody returning from their holidays at the coast please bring back some sand to help Phumelela keep their costs down.

Morning Mark, I will be going to the Vaal, will that help?

Guess its a case of:

"Penny-Wise, Pound-Foolish ( cautious with small amounts of money, but careless with larger amounts ... )"

It's a complete disgrace. The Turffontein training Centre has long been neglected. The fence around the training centre is a joke, and so are the security - so if any of you have horses trained there, it is very easy for them to be compromised. I have witnessed grooms too lazy to go around to the proper entrance, simply jump the fence, to play soccer on the grass patch next to the 1200m! In the long run, the horses suffer, as no work causes many metabolic issues... And no, the door did not hit me on my way out of there...

Hopefully just long enough for me to win one last big bet so that I can get out before the only bets are on soccer and UK racing
