Agree pirates, days like these should be made up with 7 or 8 top class races and not Topped and Tailed with Maiden races..
They need to turn the Summer Cup weekend into a festival 2 or 3 days racing back to back, have a Laddies day or something similar..

Agree pirates..new guys to the game and I dont mean young guys but guys who can afford to pay..do not want to sit at a booooring track with nothing happenning except loud music their kids listen to..
They dont have the time as their free time is precious to them..thats why rugby and 20/20 cricket appeal..racing has not kept up with the times its like a boring 5 day game

The camera positioning also has to be looked at, it was bloody awful, only got to see the outside horses with about 25 metres before the finish.

take a tour of the local totes - very few guys using Computa form/winning form (R20 too dear for them) - they use racing express or beeld - taxi to race course plus R75 would see them broke for the day - best to leave them in the totes - I took three people out to a curry resturant on friday night cost of curry -R45 per person plus drinks - cost me R230 for the supper - just about the same price per person to enter Turfs without a meal or a drink or a single bet - crazy to charge if you want people to fill the stands until your product is in demand - it's like charging customers R75 to park outside a shopping centre whith two tiny shops while they are being charged zero to shop at a major centre with 1000 shops(remember the rugby was on and many people would rather go to the dros/keg etc to watch the game and spend the R75 on booze etc than pay to go racing) - best to try to get people to come racing before you chase them away with high entrance fees - oh I forgot you need to keep the riff-raff out(they are the life blood of the industry actually)

Hi Elvis King, Computicket should have charged you R50 for the ticket up until midnight on the 27th of September. If you bought your ticket before then and you were over charged please call Candice Harley on 011 681 1589 for a refund of the difference.

The last time I went racing was when I met you in Jhb Dave,I just think in this day and age where the punters of tomorrow(and today I must add) grow up computer literate it is a simply a must.Internet is getting cheaper and access is getting easier. Why stand in a queue when you can bet online?
I haven't stood in a tote queue for at least 5 years and I'm sure others would like to be able to say the same.

Educate "all" the punters, if you can use an autobank you can place a bet using a computer point, lets call it an Internet Cafe facility rather than for yuppies, they can bring their own laptops

Thanks Margaret
so 2000 paid to get via the gate and the 3000, were between the invite guests and the function rooms?
I see we charged R50 or R75 for entrance, how much was the Elevation and Furious on the day?
