Southwell Sunday

The jumps are now in full swing and the flat reverts to all weather racing only until March.

1ST Race

I see it as a two horse race between Demonstrative and Primo De Vida. The former has goodish form on the grass and the stable usually do well on the sand whilst the latter has had only two runs both at Bath. The first of which was a shocker then improved dramatically in its 2nd run to finish 3rd. Interesting that Seb Sanders keeps the ride , so he must think this one has a chance

2nd Race

Blue Nymph in good form and finished runner up in last race at Southwell
Two others with a squeak are Feathered Crown and Fin Vin De Leu.
Dart is an outsider but this stable produces winners on the sand.

3rd Race

Penitent looks the obvious but Collateral Damage goes for a 5 timer but it is its first run on the sand.
Sovereign Remedy from the Godolphin yard should be included in the trifectas and quartets. Lowther is a fast finisher so may also run into the frame as the others tire.

4th Race

Simple Rhythm should prove to be too strong as it has won over CD and is in form although a case can be made for Loose Caboose which on its last start at the course won well. Halaak must not be overlooked as this one always ends up in the placings.

5th Race

High Ambition to hold out, although on its last run Ours came flying after a poor start and was unlucky not to get up at Southwell.

6th Race

Invincible Isle to win with Lesleys Choice and possibly an over due Pawan to finished 3rd

7th Race

Wide open so maybe 3,4 and 11 boxed

Hate the track,Southwell is probably the only All Weather track that i worry about "first time runners" as the Kick Back is shocking at times..

Agree with you on Simple Rhythm was forced to stay on the wrong side of the track at brighton during the week and ran a cracker.. But won`t be punting..

Skysurfers is race over. I got some 2.2 and 2.28 and wont even trade out. The boys at the sales in newmarket last week were all talking about this.

After yesterday's banquet at Newmarket this all sounds as exciting as a piece of dry toast. Thank goodness for the Grand Prix later!

Eish! The only good thing about Southwell is that it is prone by its uniqueness to produce course specialists. I guess it can reward those who do their homework but visually races there look like they're being run in slow motion.

If that was Demonstrative's first run at Southwell then I wager that it was also his last. Showed as much enthusiasm as Marie Antoinette going to the guillotine.
