ST JOHN GRAY CAN'T BE SMILING

I am sure that Tellytrack presenter Neil Pretorius just said that he had never heard of a sire called 'Sarge'.

St John there must be something wrong with your marketing!!

Or maybe something wrong when the Manager of the country's only dedicated horseracing channel lacks that basic info!! And I am not saying everybody needs to know everything- but Sarge has had some remarkable early success from limited chances.

Poor old Neil!

But then on July Day he didn't appear to know who Sea The Stars was either (despite the fact that he is generally regarded as the best 3 yr old in the world) ! And certainly needed to check that he was, indeed, a 3 year old.

No malice intended - I would be interested to know what his duties are. He was allegedly appointed as Operations Manager but seems to have been allocated an awful lot of studio time duty instead.

Garrick also poses an interesting question -regarding functions and duties - are we allowed, as punters, to ask such questions?

Margaret can you tell us please?

If St John's marketing is not up to scratch, then surely Molly marching up and down the winners box when Hup Two Three won announced the rrival of Sarge.

The fact that a top presenter of racing has not heared of this horse is pure amatuerism.

Butch - you can always ask :)

Okay - seriously now - he does both - Ops Management and Presenting - article here - www.racingweb.co.za/2009/05/neil-pretori...nager-at-tellytrack/ )

Relevant paragraph seems to to:
Neil’s brief is to handle the day-to-day operational aspects of Tellytrack, like dealing with customer queries and acting as the interface between the channel and our viewers and staff management.
