That's one of the worst rides I've seen  ,EVER. Talk about being too cocky ! 

I don't think Mr De Kock will be too happy with that ride. 

By the way I didn't have a penny on the horse , but just don't like it when the punter gets screwed like that.

I agree Fortune was too confident but the horse drifted accordingly to the class of the race.
Surely no fool will take 1/5 in an open maiden.Even 1/1 in an open maiden doesn't sound like good odds to me.

To me, it looked like Fortune waited for the appie, then thought he would outlast him - see there's an enquiry and rightly so.
