Survived another scare š±

Good morning, punters!
Iām on the mend after my hernia procedure, but never let anyone tell you a quick trip to the hospital is pain-free!
I wasnāt keen on the operation and thought tablets were the better option. š¤
Iām certainly no John Wick or Jason BourneāI actually have a very low pain threshold. The after-effects knocked me back after being stitched up, and Iāve been relying on pain tablets for my stomach and shoulders. š
I plan to get my stitches removed on Friday.
I've been advised to change my lifestyle, but Mrs. S has been greatāshe still allows me a Daveās Special in the evenings. š
As for bacon rolls, Iām having serious withdrawal symptoms. š«
I havenāt left the house for a week, but Iāve been keeping entertained with Tulsa King and Beast Games on Primeāhectic viewing with massive cash prizes and plenty of drama! Itās been a welcome break from 240 and the horrific daily news, both local and international.
Sporting Events This Weekend
Noah just floated past my balcony this morning, and the ARC is only in Octoberātypical, it never rains but it pours!
Horse Racing š
Port Elizabeth ā Friday
It should be business as usual with Richard vs Craig, while Zietsman is one to keep an eye on.
Anotherdanceforme
Fire Alarm
My Best Shot
for weekend ATCsĀ
Hollywoodbets Kenilworth ā Saturday
Itās the big Cape Derby meeting, but unfortunately, small fields may lead to low tote dividends. On the upside, punters should see decent returns as results are expected to be favourable.
The Cape Derby itself has just seven runners, with five from Justin Snaithās yardānot the healthiest situation. The hot favourite is Eight on Eighteen, and I heard a great story about how it got its name. š
The owner was in Ireland for the Springboksā rugby clash. He had eight pints of Guinness in a Belfast pub on 18th Street, got cheeky with Paddy, and ended up taking a well-deserved smack in retaliation. The next morning, the name 8 on 18th stuck! š¤£
The other features look fairly straightforward, with Gimme a Prince 𤓠and See It Again expected to finally repay the punters. A Pick 3 might be the way to go!
The Cheltenham countdown continues, and while Mullins looks set to clean up, spare a thought for Nicky Henderson, who is on track for a Champion Hurdle and Chase double with Constitution Hill and Jonbon.
This Saturday at Kempton, he also has Lulamba and Palladium runningāLulamba is currently favourite for the Triumph Hurdle.
Football ā½ļø
The big game of the weekend is Man City vs Liverpool!
Also, Cityās owner, Sheikh Mansour, has bought a stud farm in France š«š·āperhaps heās looking for future winners on and off the pitch!
Rugby š
Ireland continues to impress, and Wales are set for another defeat.
As Tom Jones would say, āItās Not Unusualā. š¢
This Time Next Year...
Good punting! š

Karis Teetan concedes extending beyond 1200m for the first time is a "small question mark" for outstanding sprinter Ka Ying Rising in the HK$13 million G1 Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m) at Sha Tin on Sunday, but the Mauritian is buoyed by David Hayes' supreme confidence.
Ka Ying Rising has notched 10 wins from 12 starts, with only two narrow defeats, all over 1200m, rocketing from obscurity as an unraced 52-rater to status as one of the world's premier sprinters after twice breaking Sha Tin's course record.
With regular rider Zac Purton injured, Teetan reunites with the 132-rater for the first time since winning the G3 Sha Tin Vase Handicap (1200m) at Sha Tin last June, when the Shamexpress gelding carried only 115lb and demolished a class field, including three of Sunday's rivals Howdeepisyourlove, Mugen and Invincible Sage.
