Now that the july is done n dusted one has ro wonder how Nina trogon did not make the final field considering ran third to july winner in cup trial and won again yesterday yet out classed horses like Son of raj, shoemaker, aragosta got a run, surely this horse stood a chance to get a spot?? Panel for next year must review selections im sure Miller stable will also be askin questions

If you listened to Mike Miller interview I am sure he was happy how things turned out as he had a winner on the  big day and maybe thought the mile was the horse's best trip.

Craig may be able to shed some light .

I do however agree with you that he was hard done by not getting in to the July but maybe was a blessing in disguise.

But Narina Trogon's rating was 100  before yesterday. Oriental Charm gave him 7 kgs and a beating in the Cup Trial. How would he have run close if NT carried 54kg's and OC 53kgs? That's 8kgs under sufferance or worse off for 1.6L beating.

Surely its time for Rachel to saddle up on See it again now ..cannot do worse than Striker imo

We were obviously disappointed not to get a run in the Hollywoodbets July and do definitely think we deserved a run before a few of the other horses. It  is a dream of every owner to have a runner in the race and Morgan would have loved to have got in and who knows what might have happened.  In saying that we did know that it was going to be a lot easier to win the 1600m and would have been extremely confident but for the draw. Tristan rode an incredible race to win from draw 13. Let's see next year.  Runners must be chosen on current form and not reputation or long past results.

Tell me you never missed Piere's ride on Humdinger? Probably the ride of the season

Agree a brilliant ride on Humdinger by Pierre ..but facts are that Rachel rides work on See it Again knows the horse inside out and I believe deserves to be saddled up on See it Again ...if I was the owner would be a no brainer she is a champion in the making and deserves to ride the best

Luck has a lot to do deciding the outcome of races imo - See It Again was 'unlucky' for 2 years in a row - last year he would probably have won if the minimum weight of 54kgs for an older horse were introduced last year - this year he found bad luck in running (would another jock have gone to the outside of Oriental Charm instead of trying to squeeze in between OC and Cousin Casey - we will never know, or would he have won the July if OC had not impeded him - we will never know) - that's racing and plenty of bad luck stories abound after any July with the big field, the narrow run-in around the turn and the short straight.

I also thought the Garden Province was a bit controversial - it seemed to me that our champion jockey tried to conserve as much as possible giving Double Grand Slam every chance to see out the 1600 - but in doing that he did run into a bit of trouble himself - so imo we are not sure yet if DGS does get a 1600 - and I agree, it was a great ride on the day to get Humdinger up on the line

I keep looking at the replay of the race where PROCEED ran and wonder if it could have won if Richard kept it on a straight path.

Rachel is a top jockey no doubt n will have a great future ahead but i doubt any jockey could have done better on see it again last year was best opportunity but just failed this year did get a bad run but oriental charm was finding and cousin casey also fought all the way to the line, not sure if see it again will get another crack next year but there will probably be another boom horse that will feature again as Cape town always delivers some good ones, july has proven recent years cape town form far superior then anyting else in the country And cape derby formline always in the mix wonder if mr Roberts and owners will consider an overseas campaign for See it again

Is it not time for See It Again to head to stud?

Will his end July run be his last run ? or one more crack at the Met?
