Not sure why Arumugum (3/1) is favourite. Is 5.0kg under sufferance with Runaway Song. Future Pearl (9/2), 3 year old, is 0.5kg out on MR alone in relation to Runaway Song, and is not getting the WFA allowance. If this wins at these weights, SA's next equine superstar. Salvator Mundi (10/1), not sure the 2.0kg swing will be enough to reverse the placings on Runaway Song.

Be careful studying this race solely based on the current MR, as a few have achieved a rating above their current rating and could not be adjusted based on the conditions of those races. Also Runaway Song got a hefty penalty (12kg) for a GR 3 win based on Aragosta being used as the line horse. This was unsuccessfully appealed.

I agree - very tough race (as are most races on the day) - imo Runaway song is flattered by his rating - plus the fact that there is big difference between 2400m and 3000m - at least Future Pearl has shown that he stays - but a hefty weight imo

Featherboa is my bet on the day at this stage.

Me too .... Secret Identity was hanging into him and jock had to change whip at crucial stage .... otherwise that would have been a lot closer.
