Southern Cross
2 years 1 month ago - 2 years 1 month ago
Good morning all from the Cape.
We were in Pretoria last week with load shedding 9 hrs per day and no water for 5 days.
Our friends fancied a road trip similar to last year as our other friends were having a birthday in Paternoster.
We thought we would surprise them so the long trek started and what a pleasure.
We have had 5 nights and days of clear skies and stunning views of the stars including the Southern Cross.
After a couple of stay overs in small towns we arrived in Paternoster.
It is certainly an expanding town with many new stunning developments.
We were fortunate to catch up with Charl Pretorius who is lucky to be a resident and gave us many hints and recommendations including Cathy's coffee shop which is a must for Breakfast.
We moved on to visit Yzerfontien which is also stunning but you will need a BIG pick 6 to become a resident.
We have moved on to Bloubergstrand and it's also a magnificent place with a superb view of Table mountain.
As far as racing the UK flat season is underway and great to watch Buick, Moore and Frankie having his farewell.
Only a couple of jump meetings remain.
On the local front we should be back for the big meeting on the 29th and we already have discussion on the JULY possibilities.
Let's not forget the NATIONAL SALES starts tomorrow.......good buying.
I have not watched the news for a week and feel better.
One of my favourite bands was Crosby, Stills and Nash and here is a reminder of my star gazing last week, when you see the Southern Cross for the first time .
Good Punting 👍
