Absolutely bucketing down in Cape Town at present; since 9am this morning, and steadily getting worse.

Sorry to sound like a stuck record, but I will be amazed if we race tomorrow!

If they race at Durbanville tomorrow....................

I may not have time to post tomorrow ( Tuesday ) so here, for what it's worth,is what I know regarding the chances of my runner in the 1st - Parade Prince. ( And those of you who like to drone on about 'owner privilege' just need not read this! ).

The horse is very well and has apparently smartened up significantly since debut. Although he is drawn north of Paarl there appear to be a number of poorly performed runners inside of him. Furthermore the going MAY be on the outside running rail in the home straight so getting onto the inside running rail MAY not be vital. The trainer feels he might just be one run short of absolutely spot on but has engaged a decent jock in case he performs better than expected. The going should not affect him as he performed well in the soft first time out.

I shall not be punting him as I will be happy to pocket a win or place stake. But I am going to schlep out to Durbanville so as to burn my ration of fossil fuels. I hope he runs well ( or wins! ) and I hope you all punt him if he does!

At this stage of the morning it's still on, but there was plenty of rain yesterday and overnight, so we shall see.

Sounds like they will be racing, where Pivotal Blue looks a good bet in the opener followed by the battle of the Greeks in the 4th Ela-Re and The King Again, plus Cappoquin for the lads, this horse has been rather costly to follow, but have to have a wee peck at 10/1?

good punting

Please note that it was not me that backed Big City Blues into favourite.

I had a an each way bet at 12/1 before the off of the second race!

I hope somebody else got the 12's, and the exacta with APL's Toledo Sword; that paid R65.50.
