I reckon the 4/1 on What A State in the first is decent value.

Another very hot day and a light headwind.
After the stuff up in the Sceptre, hopefully the starter has been fired.
Race 1 I will never take odds-on in a workriders race so Belle Rouge can win without my money. The 4/1 on What a State seems better value, and the sponsor has a habit of winning the first race of the day!
Race 2 The unraced runners make this a tricky start to the bipot. Smith and Wesson and We're Jamming very good debuts and should go close.
Race 3 Not much between Bon Voyage, Pomodoro's jet and Tchaikovsky. He Knows should enjoy the step up in trip. Slight preference for Bon Voyage despite the tough draw. We have I'm in Charge running here. Has not shown much his two sprints, and needs further. Should show improvement this trip but a tough draw to overcome. Outside place chance.
race 4 Real Gone Kid should win. I thought Barzalona might be a danger, but now scratched. Kasimir prefers 1200m but remains a class act even at 7 yrs old.
Race 5 I managed to get 12/10 Do It Again during the week, and he should be a hard nut to crack here. Russian Rock is a danger if his mind is on the job. Hoedspruit, Nexus and Sovereign Spirit should fill the quartet.
Race 6 The only slight question mark around Captain's Ransom is the trip, but I see no reason to doubt that she will be effective 1800m, and she is the one to beat. She's a Keeper and Princess Calla the dangers. Chansonette must have a shout- good winner of the Fillies' Guineas and 3yos have a good record in this race.
Pretty Betty steps up in class and her last run can be ignored. She is fit and well and if any of the top 3 fluff their lines she can place.
Race 7 Rainbow Bridge is the one to beat but Linebacker is always in the firing line. Kommetdieding is my sentimental choice, but may prefer further. Jet Dark is a little inconsistent, but capable of winning. The 3 year old form was done no favours in the 5th race yesterday. While its not impossible that one of them steps up, I'm going against them. Seeking the Stars and Warrior have upset potential.
Race 8 Very open. Gallic Tribe is my first choice, and Bush Tracker can bounce back from his poor Guineas run, but go wide in the exotics.
Race 9 Another very open race. My short list is Surjay (fair run in the Guineas and down in class0, Veni Vidi Vicci, Queen's Wood, but again go wide.
Race 10 We have Crimson King running and he is the horse to beat after Silver Host pulled out. The old boys Doublemint and Magnificent Seven are capable on their best form. Black Knap won't be far off us. One way Traffic has been made favourite, but we have him held at the weights unless he has improved a lot recently. In Sept we gave him 8.5 kg for a 2 length loss, and now only 3kg between us..

Looks an “easish” card but don’t be fooled as there will outsiders winning today.

Canford Lights hopefully fills my nest so that all my bets are paid for.
