Was always popular with the punters as he speaks the same language 👍

Was Dom Zaki fired as he used to do the previews?

Desert Miracle should destroy this field. I will even back her to win the Met if she were in that race. She reminds me of the mighty Empress Club.

I have based my decision on their respective times over 1400m, and it will be Desert Miracle's first time in the province, and around a left handed track. Raiding comes with difficulties, not all the time though, connections hope their charge traveled well, and for the sport, so does everyone else.

Both their last runs and times are key for me. Desert Miracle's time over 1400m was 86.49 on good ground against the colts, admittedly. Amanzimtoti's time was 87.64, but on soft ground. Believe it or not, her time was faster than the Cape Classic winner, Trip Of Fortune, by 1.68sec, and 2.05 faster than Zapatillas, the second placed finisher, and the colts carried 59.0kg, whereas the fillies carried 60.0kg.

Times at altitude are very difficult to reproduce at sea level, so before you point out Desert Miracle's winning time at Greyville being 84.81, that was when she was a juvenile, she hasn't reproduced that sort of time as an older stronger horse - she may still win today and by many, just feel there is not much between the two on adjusted times. So as a few have alluded to value in the market, also can't understand the disparity in the betting.

Local lass, local patch;)

Imo times (bar sprints) are but a pointer at best, and mostly dependent on the pace - that does not mean that Amanzimtoti has no chance - anyway we will know after the race

Not sure what the plans are, but depending on how she goes today, they may consider to supplement her for the MET - and depending on how one rates the likely top weight Rainbow Bridge, she may not be too much under sufferance with 51.5 kgs

RUNNER COMMENTS FOR KENILWORTH – SATURDAY, 4 DEC

Distance: 1200m

Comments: Should improve here but she is looking for further.

Tchaikovsky

Distance: 1200m

Comments: Doing really well going into this race and he will have a good winning chance.

Zarina

Distance: 1500m

Comments: First run back after a long break and she may need this run back in a field of this calibre.

Holy Warrior

Distance: 2500m

Comments: He is in good form and will have a very good each way chance in this first leg of the pick 6.

Amanzimtoti

Distance: 1600m

Comments: A top filly in the making and she has come through her prep with flying colours which her form line suggests. Being drawn widest of all will require us to run a very tactical race, and if Desert Miracle is found wanting in the Cape, she lays out a good case to pick up the pieces.

Dancetilldaylight

Distance: 1600m

Comments: This filly has taken a slightly different route than her stable mate, and as such has flown a bit under the radar. She is highly talented and although they haven’t met on the race track yet, we feel there is not much between our two primary contenders here. She will be right there, and her opening price of 35/1 was swooped up by those in her camp.

Jet For Time

Distance: 1600m

Comments: Tough ask for this filly in a top class field, but we feel she has ability and we are here to take our chances.

Roll In The Hay

Distance: 1000m

Comments: She comes off a long break and a wind operation, so she should need this run back to get race fit.

Iris

Distance: 1000m

Comments: She needed her last run and we expecting her to bounce back with her usual gutsy effort . Each Way claims.

Santa Maria

Distance: 1000m

Comments: Its hard to assess her chances in this field being a younger filly and back up the straight, but she appears fairly well in at the weights and a filly of her ability can’t be left of any bets. Respect.

Barzalona

Distance: 1100m

Comments: This is just a prep run for the need for speed sprint coming up, and it will be a tough ask for him in this line up.

Millahue

Distance: 1600m

Comments: We have fancied him on his last few occasions, but we have fitted the blinker’s this time and he will relish the longer straight. At 6/1 he looks a bit of each way value .
