Juan Carlos must be the horse to beat today - If he is fit then the others will have to improve to beat him - Really good cape form against top 3yr olds inc Kommetiding, Linebacker and Warrior etc - Khumalo and Van zyl have an amazing 38% s/r off their last 29 unions-
I think today The Green Gallant should leave the Maidens.
Greenlighttoheaven can follow up.
Naioshima in quartets and exotics but tough race.
Hippocrates could be better than the 71 given for a Maiden win that has produced 2 direct winners and another indirectly.

One runner today, Miss Jacqueline in race 2, and I'm not too sure what to expect as I have been somewhat disappointed with all of her last 3 runs. She had excuses her penultimate when possibly needing it and coming back a bit sore behind. She tried the poly for the first time last time, and ran ok but I thought quite a poor ride. I'm not convinced that she prefers the poly to the grass, but this is her third run after the short break, and she should have no problem with the step up in trip. The good draw helps, and blinkers on to keep her mind on the job. I'm told that she is fit and well and a decent effort is expected.
Siege Of Orleans has good form on the grass and if she goes as well on the poly must be respected. Lady Yusra has been priced up at odds-on- we have a couple of lengths to find on her on our last run, but she looks much too short in the betting and has the draw to overcome. Roy's Rocker improved this course and trip last time and should also be in the frame. Chelsea Flower fair debut and could easily improve this trip. I will box those 5 in the quartet.

A tricky card today
Race 1 One More Trick/ Winter Royale
Race 2 Miss Jacqueline/ Siege of Orleans/Lady Yusra/ Roy's Rocker
Race 3 The Green Gallant/ Arumugam/A Thousand Tunes/ Young Nelson

Surely it has got to change sometime but that was De Melo again failing on a favorite.
His winning percentage on favorites has got to be single figures this season.

De Melo is the G Cheyne of KZN Racing.

Can never win with backed favourites.

You got to feel for the punters that put the cash on early on Interbet.

i never saw the race, but keep in mind he rides for a yard that has a 2.5% win strike rate nationally and a 3% win strike rate in KZN. The yard tend to warm up as the season gets going. Last season they had 11 winners by now but was a weird start to the season after covid closure.

Surely it has got to change sometime but that was De Melo again failing on a favorite.
