The Times they are a Changin.

Good morning all and it’s time to move back home after a wonderful time with the kids.

We have also had a few special social occasions.

We were in Umhalanga on Friday at a superb Portuguese restaurant called Joitas with some racing friends.
The new place next door is also well attended by racing folk and they are both worth a visit.

On Saturday we went to a lovely spot with the kids, Caversham Mill and a visit to a special wine estate, Abingtdon in the Midlands.

Yesterday we finished our social weekend with a live show at Tina’s in Kloof same street as the kids live.
Must say another superb tribute band to Sting and Police. Tina’s sound stage and Rhumbellow theater are coupled on the tote and you can be assured on top class entertainment.

If you missed Palace Pier and Santa Barbara’s wins over the weekend, they are posted on the Question of Balance thread.

As far as good racing, remember it’s York this week and will try and get some info from Molly.
Juddmonte is on Wednesday and St Marks Basilica is still my strong fancy.
Oaks on Thursday where Snowfall only has to turn up to win.
Nunthorpe on Friday where the 4/1 on Golden Pal has been taken but 28/10 still good if stable comments are accurate.
Saturday where the Ebor will be 10/1 the field.
Next month we have the final classic of the year and Hurricane Lane will be fav to lift the oldest classic at Doncaster.

The title of the thread is hopefully that “times are changin” for the good?
It’s probably an optimistic call but racing people are talking, and we can get back on track.
Sorry can’t help you as far as the Government and Covid.

Good Punting and may your God be with you 🙏

Wednesday's Juddmonte International Stakes (3.35) has been dealt a major blow as St Mark's Basilica has not been declared after developing an infection from a gallops incident in which one of his front shoes came off and made contact with a hind leg.

The setback means stablemate Love, who produced a brilliant performance at last year's Ebor festival when winning the Yorkshire Oaks, will take on Mishriff at York, having originally been pencilled in for Sunday's Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville.

The final field of seven also includes star miler Alcohol Free, who will step up in trip in the £1 million contest as Andrew Balding bids to extend his lead in the British Flat trainers' championship

Love is also in the Yorkshire Oaks on Thursday. In the UK when does the ante-post card become a firm card?
