Don't think it was an easy ride, and guessing Fransie didn't want to take it upon himself to go to a plan B, and so rather sat behind with cover, with an uneasy horse ..... Seems that is the plan with all the Snaith runners today, which probably makes sense with the head wind and long straight etc ....

You have to spare a thought for Fransie. When last did he have 9 rides out of 9 races? Is he fit enough? Did he give it all in the 1st few races and now has nothing left in the tank? But give him a fair chance in the last

Tanks atlast a decent pa. I was struggling for a while but looks like it's turning now. But that's how this game works downs but the upside are better. All these years I have been playing I go through this downs but when it turns I recoup most losses

If I were a stipe, I would want to interview the jockey about his ride and hear what were the trainer's instructions for Somerset Maugham. This horse was strangled on a very tight rein in the running at what looked a slowish pace until 150m from home, when finally allowed to run when the race was over. The story about the going is nonsense. This horse won his races on firm going during the Cape summer season. He then ran right behind Hoedspruit and Crimson King in the winter classic at level weights, achieving a rating of 102. He had 10 lengths on this field. Although his wins were over 1400m and 1600m, he now prefers further and if there was no great pace, needed to take control no later than the 400m. This was either the worst ride of the season, or the cleverest.

Peter I agree with you most punters would have bankered the horses n all bets but I didn't because how things are going lately on all tracks. I am not saying the result is crooked but sjoe this is very bad for racing,if this horse ran stone last and something was amiss then there was a reason but this horse was ridden kak by design or what ever and this is what chases the punter away from this game we love
