It amazes me that the NHRA have done so little about the guilty parties who injured horses down in PE. Consider the response to the Frank Robinson episode and ask yourself the question why.Best wishes to that horse and all people and animals affected by those acts of savagery. The NHRA should hang their heads in shame.

Couldn't agree with you more.
The NHRA are a useless bunch.
Thankfully Wainstein got booted now just waiting for Vee to hopefully get a good kick right out the door.
Unbelievable how they have just kept silent about the PE riots.
The worse thing that can happen to horses yet they just sweep it under the carpet and hope it goes away.
They are an embarrassment to SA horse racing.

Couldn't agree with you more it is about time that the authorities get some backbone and do something about this because if they don't then they are tacitly condoning these actions. Where are the SPCA and animal rights groups outrage in this instance (Apologies if there has been).
Have criminal cases been opened so the perpetrators can be prosecuted.
I am glad to see the horse is being cared for and it was heartbreaking to see it battling to walk

They NHRA have a few tough decisions to make, don`t feel sorry for them, but how they handle the next few weeks could have big consequences on them

PE, Robinson and probably the biggest of all Fortune

The law from what I understand says that tennants have many rights. There is no law in SA that provides eviction without due process. Frank Rob should sue.

We might indeed be fighting a losing battle. But the IRC and our partners will not leave SA racing nor be quiet.

We will do the talking g when we can ( they don't edit interviews) and we will do the talking by supporting those that supported us.

Another way we will do the talking is we will NOT buy a horse from Varsfontein ever again nor support people that do.

The support thing is tricky because sometime we end up in partnerships but WILLINGLY we won't raise our hand for any animal from that farm.

The link between that farm and the NHRA is way too strong for my liking.

As for our poor WC what can I say. That horse was bought by 2 friends of ours on their 1st trip EVER to SA and one of them's 1st ever trip to an auction.

Olly we have lost for ever to SA racing, the man was distraught when I called him to inform him that whisky was one of the injured horses.

Mike S has remained in horses with us but the chances of him buying into more are slim to none.

2 English lads under 35 earning more than £500k a year gone from SA racing because of the PE incident and the way it has been handled subsequently.

Having said that, people like Laura and Mike and Hedley and Yvette and all the donations and people trying to save Whisky's life I just cannot thank them enough.

That horse has fought off death multiple times. She will never race. BUT she will always be looked after.

Very sad indeed. Those responsible must be charged.
However, it amazes me that there is so much outrage for this type of incident, yet we choose to turn a blind eye when horses are culled for financial reasons.

It will be interesting to see a comparison between horse deaths due to culling vs on the race track vs rioting.

Is the outrage due to love for the animal, or hatred of the perpetrators?

I don' follow the logic here, is the comparison between 2 legal acts versus a criminal act to try and find some sick idea of justification or mitigation?

So a person poisoning your dog in order to break into your property would be justified as you may have decided at some stage to have your dog euthanized because it was sick or better off put to sleep humanely for whatever reason?
