Fancy the double :-
R4) Golden Tractor (18/10), dropping in class and if the track is running fast, think the balance will battle to stick with him in a fast run race despite conceding weight to Hardfallingrain and Cape Of Storms, and a 2.5kg swing worse off to Skidoo for a 3.55 length beating.
R6) African Warrior (12/10), far from disgraced last time out and if repeating that effort should win this. Hopefully on breeding, will have no problem seeing out the extra furlong.
treble by adding :-
R3) Helen's Ideal (7/2), actually think she ran above her rating last time out, so despite conceding weight all round, she will go close here. Hopefully PeterD passes comment on her well being and rates her chances later.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Agree with you Bayern re Golden Tractor in the 4th... I made it the best on the card....
I fancy Princess Irene in the 3rd, think it would have come on from its come back run...
The other one i fancy is in R2, i see it is on a little bit of a drift, but that does not concern me in the slightest... Springisintheair....
My patent for the day.....

Thanks for the correction, maybe he can afford to charter his own flight back to Durban with all the pick-up wins as well:woohoo:

Good news for Golden Tractor ... not the usual headwind today, a near tail wind blowing so will be in his favor. African Warrior last time drawn 11 moved up smoothly and was checked and switched twice ... then either found no extra or was affected by the traffic as he made no impression in the last 100m's. I expect him to win on his coconut today s he was not hard ridden.

The official course report says a SE headwind today- however, looking out my window and consulting weather sites, its a North wind blowing which is a tailwind today. The track will be running fast.
Race 1. Not the strongest WR race, and the 3 in the betting are probably the right ones for the bipot.
Race 2. A competitive maiden. What a Flirt a very narrow loser last time and should get it right today. Rattlemouse looks next best from a nice draw. Silver Tiara and Springisintheair decent form but wide draws. Rocamadour is also capable of earning.
Race 3. The conditions of this race do not suit our filly- I would much have preferred running in a handicap but we don’t have an option with today’s handicap race being cancelled due to lack of entries. This is a final prep for her next target which is the Victress Stakes next month. Helen’s Ideal has come on from her run in the Diana, and I expect her to run close to her best form. She is 4 and 5 kg out with Snapscan, Princess Irene and Miyabi Gold, so I will be very pleasantly surprised if we finish in front any of those. If, however, it is a slow run race which becomes a sprint for home, then we could upset the applecart. Dynasty’s Blossom is also well in at the weights but will probably find this too sharp.
Race 4. I think that this is an open race, and while I respect Golden Tractor, I see no value in the price. Hardfallingrain and Cape of Storms are also improving 3yos that will challenge strongly, and there are a few older hard knockers who could pop up.
Race 5. I think that Cousin Liz is much better than her 97 rating ( She has won a Gr 3, yet there are maiden winners that have been given ratings of 100 and more?????) . If she is sound on the day I expect her to win. Hildegarde, Captains Darling and Spirit Festival are the main dangers.
Race 6. While 3 yo’s can improve rapidly at this stage of their careers, so an upset is always possible, African Warrior looks very hard to beat on exposed form. Viva Rio looks the closest challenger.
Race 7. This is a very difficult race, and anything can win. Elusive Trader looks a value ew bet.
Race 8. Capoeira is slung in at the weights here, and the only question is the distance. If this were 1600m or further he would be an odds on shot. Even over this trip, I think that he is the right one, and he was great value at 7/2 earlier today. 5/2 is still value at time of writing.
Invidia is a smart horse and is distance suited but has a lot to do at the weights against my selection. Not a lot between Invidia and Finding Camelot. Crown Towers is capable and these 4 will fill the quartet.

Just need PeterD's "confirmation" as to Helen's Ideal's chances, and I'm in good company, not that I'm not in good company already:)
