The biggest point to note here is that issue must NOT be grouped together with the other good things Hollywood is doing for the industry. This idea is a fail and will be scrapped.

There is something else which makes form study easier: a reserve runner is not carded a barrier. A reserve runner adopts the barrier of a scratched runner.

In Phum country, reserve runners are allocated barriers thereby necessitating the need to recalculate barriers at the off.

In the UK, from my observation, reserve runners are given (not drawn) the outside barriers.

Any Formgrids racecard look for green bar above card and below race number you see in green GRID INFO then GRID WIDTH etc then carry on until you see SORT click there then select Wgh and the card will arrange into top weight down

Thanks Mister A. It's a pity that we have now gotta use tips and tricks like this to get the thing that we all want for one province's races because people that seemingly should know better actually don't and approve an idea that makes an already declining KZN racing much less attractive to bet on.

As mentioned, I hate this format. Makes no sense to me.

However, I am in Thor's camp - I think that this will be reviewed and changed back to the norm, perhaps even before the 3 months trial is over. In the meantime, though, I remain a supporter of the other really exciting changes made in KZN. At least they are working at it, trying hard to make racing better, with some very good incentives for all.
Not every idea will be a winner, but let's give them credit for their efforts.

Tend to agree with Louis, the guys in KZN have taken the blinkers off and are always being proactive in difficult times, so let’s not forget all the good vs possibly a wrong call.

OK, I’m now under correction.
Today 14 Dec 2019 Greyville R1 refers:
In Gallop, reserve runner #15, Salah’s Girl is drawn 0, which, if I am correct, means that she would adopt the draw of a scratched runner.
In Winningform, the same reserve runner #15, Salah’s Girl, is drawn 15, which to me, now means something different in the event of a scratching.
If someone can clarify asb.

It will take up the barrier draw of the scratched horse.
