Not greatest line up for huge money.

Classic
Mckenzie, Code of Honour, Vino Rosso and Yoshida to fight it out.

No Enable in fillies and mares so Sistercharlie and Magical probably best.

Cup mile Circus Maximus ?

Turf
Anthony Van Dyk and Bricks and Morter

Obrien to have a hand in the prize money but nothing to compare with the big recent UK meetings.

IMVHO no goosebumps.

Good Punting

The Breeders’ Cup , which takes place at Santa Anita Park in California on Friday and Saturday, is one of the most eagerly-anticipated fixtures of the Flat season and brings together horses from all over the world to compete for more than $30 million (R436 million) in purses over the two days’ action.

OCTOBER 29, 2019
The meeting was run as a single-day event from its inception in 1984 to 2006 but expanded to two days in 2007 and has maintained that structure ever since.

The Breeders’ Cup has been held at different racecourses each year in North America and Canada and for 2019 returns to Santa Anita Park for a record 10th time. Santa Anita last played host in 2016 when Arrogate famously got the better of California Chrome in an epic battle for the Classic title.

Since then the Breeders’ Cup has been hosted by Del Mar for the first time in 2017 and then Churchill Downs last November for a ninth time as Enable and Expert Eye starred for Europe on a memorable day.

Last year also saw the introduction of ‘Future Stars Friday’ with five races on the first day purely for the two-year-olds, including the new Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

The two-day ‘thoroughbred world championships’ is held on Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November 2019.

On Friday the feature races on the card are the TVG Juvenile and the Juvenile Fillies, both run on the dirt surface and both worth $2 million (R29 million) in total prize money.

There are nine top-class contests on Breeders’ Cup Saturday, culminating in the $6 million (R87 million) Classic run as the final race of the day.

Friday’s race times (SA time, going into Saturday morning) are as follows:
Race 1 – 19:45

Race 2 – 20:20

Race 3 – 20:55

Race 4 – 21:32

Race 5 – 22:12

Race 6 – 22:52

Race 7 – 23:32

Race 8 – 00:12

Race 9 – 01:03

Race 10 – 01:43

Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series
The Challenge Series is a series of 87 races run in the build-up to the Breeders’ Cup which carry ‘win and you’re in’ status, starting with the Gran Premio International Carlos Pellegrini at San Isidro, Argentina, on December 15 right through to the JP Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland on October 9.

Major European races that help form part of the series include the Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Turf), the Norfolk Stakes (Juvenile Turf Sprint) and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Turf Sprint) at Royal Ascot, plus the Qatar Sussex Stakes (Mile) at Glorious Goodwood as well as the Prix de l’Opera (Filly & Mare Turf) and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Turf).

The annual L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate is the only race in South Africa that gives the winner an entry ticket to the Breeders’ Cup.

Do It Again, who won this race on 5 January this year, will however not be jetting off to California.

Saturday’s race times (SA time, going into Sunday morning) are as follows:
Race 1 – 19:07

Race 2 – 19:42

Race 3 – 20:17

Race 4 – 20:55

Race 5 – 21:33

Race 6 – 22:10

Race 7 – 22:54

Race 8 – 23:36

Race 9 – 00:20

Race 10 – 01:00

Race 11 – 01:40

Race 12 – 02:44

From Racing post

“Eight years after becoming the youngest rider to win a Breeders' Cup race with that star-spangled Churchill Downs triumph on St Nicholas Abbey, Joseph O'Brien now holds the same distinction as a trainer after Iridessa lit up Santa Anita in the Filly & Mare Turf.”
