start off with 2 maidens in race 1 not the easiest race on the card to start off start off with queen of pop scottish alley keeper of the keys and katasha for upset.... (beyond temptation i think 1000m to short)

r2 - absolute nightmare imo 2 3 6 7 10 and 12 preference for 10 found plenty betting support crying for the 1200m

r3 - elusive kat will get to the front and will attempt to fend all challenges always dancing and para handy dangers ( jadeed 3kg better off with kat but drop in distance will be to short unless strong head wind)

r4 - cliften beach is a serious serious runner and i fancy an ew kennedy rides with peanut weight but horse always has excuses miss calypso was originally my 1st selection but i do fancy clifton beach quite strongly

r5 - ive come to terms with these 68 merit rated races and its safe to say im not very good at studying these specific race so ill not tip anything

r6 - 1 3 6 jungle fairy my selection drops heavily in class and ew shot

r7 - well another 68 merit rated prefrence for 2 runners but wont give you any confidence whiteleaf hills should go very close palo alto should also one has to thing okavanga is out at the weights and drawn badly but was tried in pnnc l stakes and is slightly classy so will add it in being my 3rd selection. could be a nightmare race.

r8 - teofillia is my best bet on the card going from a maiden straight to a 74 and went down closely. tiger star and pen chan looks like the only possible threat

Nadine’s TRAINER COMMENTS :

RACE 1 :

1st four selections
5 / 11 / 13 / 1

• TARA LAING - Number 11 - BEYOND TEMTATION : She’s run two good races so far on grass and we are hoping she takes to the Poly.
• JUAN NEL - Number 14 - VIVID RED : She took her debut run well, it was a fair effort and a similar run again is expected.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 8 and 12 - HALLO ROSIE, LITTLE RED STAR & COMET PATH : Hallo Rosie is always thereabouts. Hoping for improvement from Little Red Star. Expecting improvement from Comet Path.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3 and 9 - KATASHA & OYSTER BAR : Katasha is usually never far off and she could place. Oyster Bar enjoys the 1000m on Poly, is improving and could also run into quartets.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 4 - COIN MISTRESS : She needed her first and can improve.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 6 - ORLANDA : She has her first run with blinkers and will run well.

RACE 2 :

1st four selections
5 / 6 / 10 / 12

• TARA LAING - Number 5 - APOLLO ROCK : He ran well in his last and must have a good chance.
• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 6 and 8 - ANDREA & FORBIDDEN AFFAIR : Andrea is holding form and has an each way chance. Forbidden Affair ran on very well on debut, he was green and could still need more experience, but his first run was very positive and he can further improve on it.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 9, 10 and 11 - KING CAPONE, LORD MILBERRY & NEWS ALERT : King Capone will still need this and probably further too. Lord Millberry ran a fair race on debut and can improve. News Alert tries blinkers and we are hoping he can show the necessary improvement.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2 and 7 - CAPTAIN CARLOS & CASSIMBO : Captain Carlos always has a place chance. Cassimbo is expected to be green.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 3 - JURIST : He makes his local debut and is better than his form suggests.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 4 and 12 - KING OF PROMISE & WICKED GRIN : King of Promise is trying the blinkers, he has still been looking around with the pacifiers on. Hoping they help and he can improve. Wicked Grin is a lovely horse and he finished well on debut, but he tries the Poly and the bend for the first time and could still be green.

RACE 3 :

1st four selections
1 / 4 / 6 / 2

• TARA LAING - Number 1 - PARA HANDY : He’s not put a foot wrong in PE, but does debut on Poly and we’re not sure if he’ll enjoy the surface.
• ALAN GREEFF - Number 2 - ALWAYS DANCING : She ran a good post maiden in her last but does have a tougher task against male opposition.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 5 - TUNDRA : He ran out a good win in his last but tries Poly again.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 7, 8 and 9 - MASTER DESIGN, JADEED & ADIOS GRINGO : Master Design could still need this and possibly a touch further too. Jadeed improved well in his last and similar again is hoped for. Adios Gringo has not been far off in his latest two runs and could find quartets in a small field.

RACE 4 :

1st four selections
1 / 2 / 5 / 3

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 3, 5 and 8 - LILY THERESA, SHEPARD’S DELIGHT, QUEEN OF THE ROSES & CLIFTON BEACH : Lily Theresa’s work is a lot better than her form so I am hoping she can show the expected improvement. Shepard’s Delight is at her best on the Poly. Queen of Roses makes her local debut but is working well. Clifton Beach is never far off. All three can earn.
• TARA LAING - Numbers 2 and 9 - MISS CALYPSO & SPEECHMAKER : Miss Calypso has won on the Poly, she would probably prefer 1400m but she is not without chance. Speechmaker takes on stronger.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 6 - WESTERN ANGEL : She is working well and has a quartet chance.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 11 - FLAME OF FIRE : She ran on very well in her last and lightly weighted could find place.

RACE 5 :

1st four selections
2 / 4 / 3 / 7

• JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 1 and 2 - TITUS & HUMANITARIAN : Titus races off a break and could need it. Humanitarian has his post maiden run and is up in class but he won very well and another good run is expected.
• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 6 - MASTER NEWTON & SHINE LIKE A STAR : Master Newton won his last well and could follow up. Shine like a Star is an old soldier and can always pop up.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 5 and 10 - SHOOTING STAR & TARZAN : Shooting Star has his first run out of the maidens. He was an easy winner that day, so we are hoping for a decent follow up, but the 1300m could be a touch short. The trip could also be sharp for Tarzan, but he has shown good pace over a bit further so hopefully he could sneak a place in an open field.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 12 - BURNT ROCK : He will get closer, his work back home has improved.
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3, 8 and 9 - BERNARDO, LUCIO & SPIN MASTER : Bernardo could be looking for a bit further but he held form in his first out the maidens last time out and does have a chance. Lucio can improve. Spin Master must do more.

RACE 6 :

1st four selections
5 / 4 / 1 / 7

• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 4 and 8 - EXCLUSIVITY, LATERAL’S FLASH & CLOSE TO MY HEART : Exclusivity ran a very good last, she tries Poly here. Lateral’s Flash raced against too strong in her last and she will be better in this company. Close to my Heart is working well and could be thereabouts.
• ALAN GREEFF - Number 5 - DALLEY : She ran a good last where she was unlucky in the running late and she is not without chance at the win.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 10, 11 and 12 - BOLDNESS, HOPEFUL & SETTLEMENT DAY : Boldness has not been far off of recent and can run into quartets. Hopeful was never in her last and is capable of better. Settlement Day must improve.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 1, 6 and 7 - KENTUCKEY BLUE, SEATTLE SOUND & ROCK STARDOM : All three horses can earn. Kentucky Blue is an honest filly and drawn well here she does have a chance if seeing out the 1900m. Seattle Sound is also very consistent, she likes the trip and is also drawn well. Rock Stardom is always thereabouts, she is still a little immature but she is improving.

RACE 7 :

1st four selections
4 / 9 / 6 / 2

• TARA LAING - Numbers 3 and 4 - STREETFIGHTING MAN & PALO ALTO : Streetfighting Man is a very nice horse, he has his first run on the Poly though and we’ll have to see if he takes to it. Palo Alto has done well on the Poly and is showing smart work, he must have a good chance.
• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 6 and 9 - SUNDAY FALLS & WHITELEAF HILLS : Sunday Falls has won over track and trip and has a quartet chance. Whiteleaf Hills is very consistent and should be thereabouts.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 11 - SAMAR : He is capable of so much better and we are just hoping he shows the improvement he is capable of.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 12 - AWAKENING : He ran an improved last and similar again is expected.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 5, 7 and 10 - WOOD FOR THE TREES, THE GOON SHOW & GREAT CRUSADE : Draw a line through Wood for the Trees last run, we are hoping for improvement as his work has been better. The Goon Show is back off a break, he didn’t enjoy Kimberley and should improve back in PE, but he is expected to need this. Great Crusade is expected to improve.

RACE 8 :

1st four selections
1 / 9 / 2 / 5

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1 and 9 - TEOFILIA & REGAL RUBY : Teofilia ran a good post maiden in his last. Regal Ruby showed very good improvement on local debut. Both have a chance at the win.
• DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 5 - BUSHY PARK : She is well and though she takes on the boys she will run a good race.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 8, 13 and 14 - PEN-CHAN, MBALI & HONEY SUITE : Pen-Chan ran well fresh in his last and drawn well has a chance. Mbali and Honey Suite must improve.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 10 and 12 - EXALTATION & EX NIHILO : Exaltation is working well, but he is drawn wide. Hoping for an improved run from Ex Nihilo.
TARA LAING - Number 11 - ZABIVAKA : He has done well on the Poly and could run into quartets.
MONTANA TURNER - Number 4 - LAW AND ORDER : She is well and we are hoping for a decent run but her merit rating is way too high and she does need it to drop.

I am positive that ELUSIVE KAT was the horse involved in the banned substance case with the NHRA.

I cannot believe that is has now been so heavily backed.

I smell a rat!!!
