Agree with NHA here.
Just out of curiosity, is there any precedent for this sort of behaviour?

The incident definitely deserves a sanction however in order for the NHA to be consistent they need to apply the same sanction to all the jockeys and here in lies the rub of the green or rather reflects exactly why the NHA are not seen as consistent in its oversight and penalties.
Richard Fourie (Kasimir)on the same day almost put Zackey (Van Halen) over the fence and that wasn't the only time on the day he almost sent another jock flying. Surely he will face the same sanction???
And people wonder why racing is in the state it is...

Too many items are subjective...fines, objections, etc so consistency unlikely and the inevitable negative reaction from all and sundry...

I saw an Australian article saying he got off very lightly.
Similar offence got 10 years in OZ

Sentence should have been 10 years of anger management therapy...

Imo, it's extremely light on the sentence.
Imo, there is a difference between what he did and when there is an animal actively involved. The animal does bring a bit of the unknown into the equation.. There was no unknown in his action and I feel this ban was handed out on the result of his action not the actual action. I have no doubt that if Lyle was not so lucky and did get hurt his sentence would have been greater.... Personally, I thought a year on the sidelines was the min sentence....

It's a good thing Muzi pointed out how inefficient the review system currently is. They should be able to put a panel together and attend to the appeal in no time!
