HATS OFF TO PIETERSEN

When arriving in the UK he was on a hiding to nothing. He stated that he wanted to qualify to play for England. He had a 4 year wait in order to qualify. So he had to do well in the county game. His record over those 4 seasons speaks for itself.

Once he was selected for England he excelled in the 50 over game scoring 3 centuries against SA in hostile conditions. When he was selected for the Test side he showed SA what they were and still are missing. Love him or hate him the bloke is a tremendous cricketer. How many of us dreamt of been selected to play international sport. He has fulfilled his dream. Now he is captain of England.

Englands gain is South Africas' major loss because if he were in the SA one day side SA would have won the last World Cup.

I reckon the captaincy will curb his batting style in the long run but with the cupboard bear I don't think the English had much choice.
