First The Donkey Derby.......and then.......

At 16:20 we had the Elan Gold Cup which no amount of spin or bluster can disguise just how poor our stayers are. At least Dark Moon Rising spared us a 2+ minute yawnfest.

And then we had Enable. No comment required. Just watch the rerun. Wow.

Note to local panelbeaters - Dettori gave the horse ONE tap at the top of the straight and then rode for his life to the finish.

I thought that Crystal Ocean was a tad unlucky. Enable appeared from side on viewing to encroach into Crystal Oceans space. Looks like the early pace was nearly the undoing of Enable. Frankie, what can you say about him, still the master and one of the all time greats ever to ride a race horse.

I thought Rainbow Bridge’s win was very similar to Enable’s. I expected an objection from Crystal Ocean but relieved that not.

I dont think the objection would have been upheld if Crystal Ocean objected against Rainbow Bridge :whistle:
