Hollywood.... Again
5 years 11 months ago
I need some assistance at Hollywood Boksburg ASAP.
Deposited R10,000 in my account on Thursday, got my 15% bonus.....
Played it all out on Friday for the July weekend...
Won R16k.
I'm at the branch, they refuse me a withdrawal...
WTF?

Hi Saint, just make sure you turned over both your stake and deposit once
So basically you have to punt 11500 at 1/2 or better before you can withdraw

They tried something similar with my wife recently. She won R15k after her deposit of R4k. They didnt process the withdrawal and reversed it without even advising her.. When she called them, they said she didn't follow the T&Cs. After more than an hour on the phone with them, and having to explain Hollywoods T&Cs to their own supervisor, they finally conceded and said they will pay out. Not even an apology though.
I told her never to game online with Hollywood again. Its hard enough to win as a punter, but to then fight and bitch to get your winnings paid out is just bullshit!

TBF to Hollywood, I would process more than one bonus to a household press and most bookies have that written into t&c
“ My wife, my sister, my cat”
“ My wife, my sister, my cat”

And then they take 12 hours to pay out winnings for the July race !? Was that in their T’s and C’s?

Hi The Saint / Johan
I believe our Boksburg team eventually addressed this, paid you out and apologized. Our area manager will be following up today with regards to the incident, and will be calling you with more info on what happened. We apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication. We will be addressing this from all angles, as it's not the level standard we aspire to.

Convenient to hide behind T&C's.
Logging into your Hollywood account you are required to tick the T&C box, then only you get access, you are basically forced to accept whatever rules and regulations Hollywood apply.
Only AFTER getting access to your account, you read about the 15% bonus and its terms and conditions!.. so by clicking the T&Cs upon accessing your account, how can Hollywood persume that at time of your you first entry acceptance click, you agree to their one sided rules and regulations regarding the bonus promotion?
The week leading up to the July, my daily SPAR and or Shell garage 1000R top up voucher purchase, upon loading it, you immediately are credited by the 15% bonus, no questions asked... if you want it or not, they give it to you... no T&Cs.
Secondly, this borders entrapment as Hollywood as it would appear, want to force you to play again as per their rules, in order for you to have a second chance of loosing your winnings, your original deposit and the bonus % allocated to your account.
Never had I experience this type of business where as say for instance you get a R100 free gambling voucher from a casino, they refuse payouts on any winnings you may have whilst gambling that voucher, nor do they have terms stating that you have to play your winnings again in order for them to win back the value of the voucher or additional deposits.
Hollywood is a cash business and they do not want you to win, and if you do, it would appear that they want to enforce terms in order for you to have to punt your winnings again?
The question is why do we the punter make use of these betting shops with all their one side terms and conditions, are we nuts?
Surely the July pick 6 turnover would have an major increased pool if all exotic bets we place at betting shops, were played on the tote, resulting in bigger payouts for the punter. This R22m July pool would have been closer to R30m in my opinion, and the payout more than the R161thousand this weekend.
Could Hollywood perhaps tell us what amount was spent by their account holders on this past weekend July P6?
Thought so!
These betting shops will close the moment TAB introduce fix odd betting, but understandably, this is not TABs business model, to risky perhaps, that is why Hollywoodbets and the other betting shops take the risk, but on their terms.
At the end if the day, is it worth it placing bets at bookmakers? I'm starting to have my doubts as surely the bookies manipulate the betting and this having an adverse effect when your want to have a full go on your bet as fake bets and betting coups put doubt in your mind, and most of the time make you change your mind which horse to bet, as you are being lead to believe some horses are unbeatable or good things....
Having said all this, this is not the 1st time I'm having issues with Hollywood, I remember a couple of years ago, winning a R1.5m pick 6 only 1 %, only to get a R5000 payout from Hollywood as per their then terms and conditions.... still regret not playing it on the tote, would have given me an additional R10k in my pocket.
I'm so disappointed in myself, feel sorry for my wife who sat with me for 3 hours at Boksburg Hollywood, trying to get a payout, the casino up the road would have recognized and value their customer by offering them a drink.... I would have been a triple platinum diamond card holder at any casino if my choice if my pleasure was machine gambling and not horse racing.
I got the the conclusion that Hollywood actually does not value their customers, not only a conclusion but actually a fact, I experienced this on Sunday first handed and personally.

Hi Sweet TBF to Hollywood, they admitted and announced early that they had an issue with the Durban July payouts on all their platforms and including on here.. Very proactive of them
