This is a difficult card.

Taking a chance with the double :-

R2) Gimme The Rain X (R7) Kursk

....... and that's not with a lot of confidence.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I am going to hve a small break from racing, some disastrous results recently. So will just observe and if something good comes up, who knows. Just playing a R20 bet on top of class out of sentimental as it's my daughter's graduation tomorrow.
Best of luck guys

I agree with Bayern, this is not an easy card. Lovely day in CT, and not much wind although a moderate headwind expected this afternoon. Course will be running fast.
Race 1.Not a lot between the raced runners, but I will narrowly side with Jean's Man. Unraced runners could upset.
Race 2. Gimmetherain is consistent and has scope for improvement and is the pick in an open race. Top of the Class has been poor last few, but well in on earlier good form.
Race 3. Scottish Ally poor last time after 2 good runs, but had excuses so worth another chance. Mon Cherie also excuses last time and should challenge. Yucatan and Raincheck fair debuts and should improve. Again watch the unraced.
Race 4. Wadi Rum looks the best of the raced runners. Destruction Boy reverts to sprinting after moderate runs over ground, but wide draw. Newhaven fair debut but wide draw. There has been support for first timers and they could hold the key here.
Race 5. Veld Flower good debut and is a possible banker. Dangers are Polly's Destiny, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Maravilloso and Sigma Alpha.
Race 6.Tricky handicap. I'll go with Fluttering and Western Angel
Race 7. Kursk another possible banker. Gimme Peace flopped from a very wide draw last time, but if repeating two prior efforts could win. JJ the Wolf and Billy No Mates have fair form. Senor Don is any price, but has improved each start and could upset with further improvement.
Race 8.Luxemburg flopped last time but prior form is good. Deposition usually thereabouts. Miraculously Ours is still learning, but should improve further to challenge. The Blues is not consistent but could surprise.
Race 9. A competitive handicap. We have Elusive Victor running. He is not the best weighted on past form, but he is still improving and I think he has a good ew chance. Streetfighting Man, Vforvictory and Big Fish are well weighted on their best form but not so consistent. Plenty others with chances.

My observation for about a week or so is that SHORT price favourites for the 1 and 2 race runs 2 or third.

Never a good sight in racing when a stable mate beats it's odds on companion, and the odds on runs out the money.
